Breakfast g2g at dhabas outside IBS tomorrow. Post breakfast people can continue towards ananthagiri if they wish. IBS is about 15 kms from Gandipet. Call Varun for directions if needed +919540578408

The meet at the IBS (ICFAI Business school) dhabas will be at approx 9am..
You can also join us at the 'Al saba Restaurant' in Gachibowli at 8am. A few of us will be meeting up there and riding towards IBS and then ananthagiri.

Hyderabad to Pune

Hey guys!
I am planning for a Hyderabad - Pune ride via NH9. I own a Yamaha FZ16.
This is going to be my first long ride.
Kindly suggest the checkpoints I would need my bike to be serviced with. I am also planning to change both the tyres, thinking of Michelin Pilot Sporty. Would this be appropriate for the ride.
Also, all you pro riders, I will need a word of advise from your experience.

Things you can get checked in service are.. Engine oil condition(change oil if it has lost its life before going for the ride),Brake pads,Carb clean/tune(if necessary),Chain slack+adjustment+cleaning and lubing,Brake pads check,Clutch and Accelerator cables check are few to name.However i cant comment of tyres since i dont own an FZ.XBHP Hyderabad chapter is very active in FB than in this thread.Try posting your query there and All the best once again for your ride

Also, what could be a replacement of shell advanced 4T in terms of full synthetic engine oil. I am afraid we don't have shell outlets here in Hyderabad.

Though Shell bunks are closed down,you can find many shops selling Shell Oils.Though finding Shell FS(Ultra) is a bit difficult,you can get SS oils in many automobile shops.If you want there are few dealers who sell Ultra oil too.Where do you stay by the way bro?

The fz uses a xW50 oil right? (even if its a w40, i'd say pick up a w50 since it will be a long ride at consistently higher speeds compared to city rides)Your best bet would be to pick up some Motul (5100 or 7100) in the grade xxW50 (don't worry much about the number before 'W' , its mostly either 10,15,20 for 99% of the oils we get here and is good enough)
If not just use the Yamalube (from a sealed can) from your nearest Yamaha showroom. Just ensure whatever oil you use, the grade is correct (more specifically the number after 'W')

A lot of places are now stocking on motul, and one of those places is 'new star enterprises' on ministers road , near kims hospital. Its a tiny shop but stocks most oil brands.
I picked up some motul 20w50 for my duke last week @Rs.730 per litre.(Mrp. 805)

Looks like finding 10w40 is difficult here. Finally after lot of tiring search got hold of 15w40 yesterday (winter is already over, so this shouldn't make much of difference). Did some 100 odd kms after the oil change. Engine appears smooth. Frankly haven't seen much difference in clutch operation. Throttle is smooth but lacks the responsiveness (all this are relative to 10w40 from shell that I was using earlier). Overall its a good oil.

Good local Honda mechanic Hyderabad

Hi everyone,

I have a 2005 Honda Unicorn, My bike has run 45k kms so far and is giving me a lot of problems. Does anyone know a reliable and skilled local Honda mechanic in Hyderabad? I live in near Banjara Hills. I am not interested in going to the Authorized service centers because in my experience, they do more harm than good. Thanks!

Yeah.. Those Honda guys are not really worth it and their arrogance precedes them.. Hence i picked ktm over honda cbr..

I have a nice guy in secbad.. But will be far for you.. Mettuguda to be precise..
