  • @All: Sorry for no communication from my side. My best friend's Dad&my colleague have expired this weekend, one after the other&I am really shocked. The first one has died due to health reasons&the second due to an accident. I don't think I can muster up the courage to ride tomorrow. It will take me some time to come out of the sights I have witnessed in the last 2-3 days.

Yamaha guys said that the insurance policy deals with 1st owner (da guy who paid for insurance)as I bought my bike second hand recently..... I guess insurance wont help

        • [QUOTE=yaser_kb100;366285]nice to know that U guys had a nice trip - ABZ, don't get frustrated and as Sagar rightly said - its now all about quality. It was a combination of things that led to it - the low profile tyre, the alloy, the speed + our beautiful roads - just like life - throws surprises to you when U least expect.

You did a great job by handling it, not skidding/hurting yourself, cautioning the others and avoiding further trouble.

Coming to the rim - have heard of such events in the past. Also, biking/riding isn't just about having a great bike, going to a lovely place, hitting the top speeds or red lining. It is about enjoying every moment of it irrespective of the ride or the destination + some know how about the basic mechanicals/troubleshooting helps a lot especially on longer rides.

In the older days(pre tubeless) you cud bump into a pothole, get the rim bent and still reach him wobbling and later get it fixed, but then those days are gone.

I would still say - take it as a learning experience and then there is a saying that goes "everything happens for a reason". The reason what I see for the rim cracking is the hammering. From whatever little I know, a bent alloy can't be fixed by hammering. It first has to be heated to a certain temperature and then gently hammered(special one) to get it back into shape - hammering without heating the alloy will definetly crack it. Even a busa's rim would crack in that situation. Steel rims were a diff story.

Yes - Sagar knows this quiet well

Yes u are right... its all about 'riding' doesnt matter where to n which bike....

What I have learnt from this experience(my point of view)

          1. As a rider, never think of ur as an experienced rider and that u know how to ride.....The bike doesnt know and doesnt care.......
          2. Never over trust ur bike...... Any thing can happen any time....
          3. Take life as it comes, u have got nothing to loose.....
          4. U can buy a rim or a broken part but u cant buy a human part or health.... treasure ur health n enjoy ur ride

                            • Have been thinking about this a long, How about a MEGA HYDERABAD G2G.

Its been a long time since we had a huge gathering. There were G2G's earlier where there have been more than 30+ riders (A'poor Drag G2G and GIR2 G2G). After that its scattered ones.

Lets decide a date which is far enough so that every one can plan their schedule. Lets put this G2G on priority of all ours busy lifes for couple of hours. A decent good place in outskirts of city. May be evening snack will do on any sunday.

I am ok for this during next month. I hope there are no exams for any of you guys.

                              Ok, Suggestions welcome, Arguments welcome.

Lets keep it preferably on Feb 28th 2010. I belive this will give ample time to plan all of us to attend this G2G. Still suggestions are welcomed. Some how when ever I think of City G2G...First place that strikes is GANDIPET for me. Any other good options were a huge group wont get disturbed? And pray that the TG/AP issue is shown door by that time.

If every one is affirmative about this and date is fixed, then we could start a seperate thread for this. Please, Treat this MEGA G2G serious. I wish this G2G will show up real face and strenght of Hyderabad xBHP. And get a chance to click FACES of HYD xBHP.

This is just an initiative to join the lost links and collect the scattered memories around. Lets make this G2G the biggest of all G2G's happened here in Hyderabad.
