Yesterday Night around 11pm saw a bike with pillion and xBhp sticker enter the Archies/Energym lane opposite Nadco shopping centre, Andheri West Station while I was working out ... anyone amongst you ??

Where do I get my bike's battery checked?? ... XCD135 has maintenance free battery but Reddy asked me to get it checked since the bike is more than 2 years old and now I am facing cold start problem more often.

EDIT: Calling all for a Mini-G2G over ICE CREAM at Baskin Robins, Carter Road at 10pm sharp tonight !

Hi chicmagnet some suggestion for your short trip.

Day 1 : Start from mumbai by 6 am u can easily reach to velneshwar by 12 noon. its around 320 kms from mumbai. Have hunch there and enjoy the calm beach.Leave from there by 3pm for ganpatipule. Its around 80kms from there so easily reach there by 5pm.

Day 2 : Ganpatipule to tarkarli its around 200kms. Start in the afternoon reach there by 3-4 pm. Eanjoy tarkarli beach in the evening.

Day 3 : Got up early reach to Devbaug beach by 6.30am(coz you can see dolphins early in the morning) and ask for ferry near karli river for watching Dolphins. Go to sindhudurg fort, do snorkeling at there and roam around malvan.

Day 4 : Back to mumbai its around 550kms.

Day 1 : Mumbai - Velneshwar - Ganpatipule. 400kms.
Day 2 : Ganpatipule - Tarkarli. 200kms
Day 3 : Around malvan.
Day 4 : Tarkarli - Mumbai. 550 kms.

+1 to day 3 plan of lonely rider . just dont miss the early morning ferry at deobag. take the trouble to get up as early as 6 am and go for that ferry. the stunning beauty of our mother nature will take ur breath away. deobag is just a 5-10 mins ride from tarkarli. i have been there twice in cage. would have loved come with u, but i dont have holiday on 6th .

will give you the number of the guy who arranges these ferries (once i reach home in the evening). his name is Mr. Nandu Tikam. he is the guy who has govt approval for running ferry. or if i fail to find his number, just ask any local hotel guy for his number. dont go with other local boatmen / fishermen. they will offer you cheaper ferries, but the official boats have life jackets (just in case may be ) and back up boats also.

also, if u want to stay closer to beach, do book hotel room in advance. coz many tourists will be visiting there. gajanan resort, chintamani resort are good. u can get a bit cheap hotels also.

edit:- if u want to have good non veg food, Hotel Sagar Kinara is the best. its near malvan beach. fresh fish all the time
and Hotel Chaitanya is the best hotel for veggies.

Were you with a pillion and did you enter the lane opposite to nadco ?? ... I know about that thread but I expect quicker reply here since its Mumbai specific !

Regarding ICE CREAM G2G, I had a nice time with Anant, Chicmagnet, Samarth and Rishi

else consider this:-

Day 1 : Mumbai - Velneshwar - Tarkarli. (a bit hectic. u may reach tarkarli late night. but still very do-able if u spend just a bit less time at Velneshwar. if u reach velneshwar at 12, leave for tarkarli around 2 pm)

Day 2 : Tarkarli / around malvan
Day 3 : Tarkarli - ganpatipule
Day 4 : Ganpatipule - Mumbai.

see doing a long run in early stages of ur ride is what i prefer. coz while coming back u may be tired. hence i am suggesting to stay at ganpatipule while coming back. else its as per ur choice.

you can come via NH4 also. Route is Tarkarli-Kankavali-phonda ghat-
kohlapur-pune-lonavala-mumbai. its around 550kms. This route will take less time. All the best.
