^^ nicenesss! I like that plan. Though the original one was to stick around at Malvan and discover its beauty. Will do that only instead.

My only problem is Tarkarli - Mumbai which on Nh17 will take a hell lot of time!

I would suggest you to take Ammboli ghat and reach Kolhapur and take NH4. This was you can also view the scenic and beautiful Amboli ghat and NH4 which is in very good condition as compared to NH17.

NH17 is in very bad conditions at some places. You will come to know about it during your journey on the first day.

NH4 distance is more as compared to NH17 but you can maintain good speeds on NH4.

you can come via NH4 also. Route is Tarkarli-Kankavali-phonda ghat-
kohlapur-pune-lonavala-mumbai. its around 550kms. This route will take less time. All the best.

I agree that first day I should do more kms and I plan the same hence could keep Tarkarli as an open option on Day 1 .

Right now only worried about stay options and not inclined to spend a lot of money on stay!

Yes planned something but could change depending on whether anyone turns up for the ride.

Short trip plan
ay 1: (6th) mumbai - Ganpatiphule
day 2: (7th) Ganpatiphule - tarkarli/Malvan
day 3: (8th) tarkarli/Malvan - velneshwar
day 4: (9th) velneshwar - mumbai

And take leave man. Or fall sick

Starting at 6 shouldn't be a problem either

Few cents from my side

Day 1: Mumbai - Ganpatipule - Kankavali (Stay in Kankavali will be dirt cheap)

Day 2: Kankavali - Kunkeshwar - Malvan - Tarkarli

Day 3: Tarkarli - Devbaug - Veleneshwar

Day 4: Veleneshwar - Mumbai

Dono but for some crazy reason I would always vote for NH 17

Also when in Malvan don't miss the Golden Ganpati Temple next to Malvan beach worth a visit.
