His bullet was stalled after the JNPT toll.. Me, Kakkar where little ahead & stopped further for them (Tushar, Vishal, Mayur). Later getting the news about his bike being stalled, we returned back to the toll, to know that they moved off riding slowly. I must salute Tushar, who pushed him all the way from JNPT to Airoli. There we got the issue fixed & he moved on to his place.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post
Dude, Ketan came late. Me & tushar too started very late & reached BWM around 12.30pm. Hope we meet up in the next ride..!!Originally posted by mitz View Post

So it was you in the red Chevy Cruze? Thanks for the effort bro, Ninad did a fantastic job as well sticking out of the sunroof all the while. I saw you guys last just near khopoli where that mishap took place & the bikers started gathering up. So you guys actually returned back & never made it to BWMC?Originally posted by viraj_s85 View PostI wanted to capture this mega ride in perfect manner for which i arranged for car with sunroof so that pics n videos can be clicked nicely...
But I was not happy with what I was looking in my RVM and after few kms I made U turn to head back home...
I think I too made a mistake by bringing car for shoot as I felt somewhere every1 wanted to get clicked and didn't care much about formation riding
Is that video gonna be uploaded ? (would love to see whatever little formations we had) Seniors can use the same video for some pointers in group riding related discussions at upcoming g2g (if there would be any)
Oh Sad, missed an opportunity to bug you guys (offline) for Leh preparations.Originally posted by rachitkohli View Post

Well, I left BWMC by 11.30 as i had plans for the rest of the day .
Visited Bhaje caves & still had time to visit Pavana lake but I didn't want to go back to NH4 & visit Pavana via Lonavala. There is one another way too & I was unsure of the route, so i thought of calling you or Ketan for direction advice, but i didn't call, presuming you guys must be busy with something important (considering you missed this mega g2g)
Nevertheless, after some local advice, decided to take the direct offroad trail to lohagad & thereafter Pavana lake. BIG MISTAKE.
All Leh-Ladakh aspirants seeking offroad experience have another option apart from Rajmachi
Worst offroads that i've been on.

Our ride from Airoli to McD was too good and it was f***ed up after thatOriginally posted by pratheekkunder View PostMy first group ride from Vasai-Airoli was perfect. And it was the same from Airoli to McDonalds.
But the ride from McDonalds to BWM was crazy! I got a hint of the ride, when we crossed the JNPT section.
The CBR guys, who the hell called them.I Seriously felt like kicking that sardars ass. He tried to cut me twice.I was almost saved once.
Talking about group riding, people forgot what group riding was all about. I saw the GIR rider riding the Ninja, waving his hand and flashing his two fingers. He really meant people to ride in 2 line formation but no one was listening to him. Result, he was helpless and continued riding!
I would like to thank all those people who were showing off their bikes, their riding style. One reason,i became aware of the way you guys were riding and thats why i was crusing at 70-80 kmph. And thank you again, i got a a nice mileage of 48 kmph..
Also, i made up my mind of riding back with people whose riding style i know.
This was my last ride with big group. Until and unless, we dont have some strict rules about the formation riding, i aint going to join in.
DK,Satyen? Can we have some stringent rules in place.
Seriously, we really need strict rules in place. Me and 3-4 riders were riding at pace of 60-70 kmph and in proper formation. I was tailing with my non xbhp friend with his Duke. Later saw many riders passing by us and overtaking us
We did wait at the spot where the P220 guy skidded. It was post Mahad Ganpati right turn and pre Khopoli. He finally left his bike at an nearby Hotel and continued as pillion. He wasn't able to ride as his wrist was injured. Thank God bcoz of the gear he didn't suffer any major injuries...Those who like me, raise your hands. Those who don't, plz raise your standards :)

@ Mitesh,
Yeah, I missed the ride from Panvel. I was supposed to go to Pune that day for some documentation. The guy who was supposed to give me documents on Saturday night didn't turn up. So I had no choice but to wait till he opened his office on Monday morning to collect documents. To add to the frustration, my Airtel SIM card had some problem and wasn't working. Couldn't co-ordinate with anyone. However I had had chat with Durvesh, Himanshu and Prasad on Facebook on Saturday evening that I'll be joining the ride.
I started from Dadar by 8.30am and was expecting that the whole convoy must have reached BWMC by the time I reach there. Till Lonavala express way I didn't come across any rider(I mean xbhpians) as such. Saw a Duke and Orange 220 on the express way. Didn't recognize who the riders were so didn't stop for them and continued on my own. Later I saw a group of bikers waiting by the expressway just before the bridge/tunnel. Then one more group near Kamath restaurant. I think those were Royal Enfield riders. Then just after the downhill slope of Kamshet I saw a huge mob on the service road near a junction. I immediately understood something must have gone wrong. I stopped to help and see what the problem was and that's when I met Puneet and few other familiar riders. I was told that there was a crash and things are under control and no need to stop. I still remember I re-confirmed by asking you sure there's no need to stop and only then continued to BWMC with Puneet and other riders. I was there for the Ducati Monster ride and this ride, formation looked very different than what was there during the Monster ride.
I left the venue early with few of the Pune riders. Ride to Pune was very frustrating because of the diversions and unbearable heat. Thanks to Niranjan and Inder paaji for guiding me to Hadapsar via Pimpri Chinchwad
Sorry to know that someone lost his/her life. RIP!
Ride safe guys! Take care!Ketan Nikharge.

Glad to know you finally did made it to BWMC though I'm sure you must have missed all the gorgeous babes from C.O.P.S & other monsters as they left around 11.30.Originally posted by ketan_r15 View Post@ Mitesh,

So the second incident took place near Kamshet & you were at that site.. So i guess it must have been around 11.30 - 12.00 by then.. by that time i was on my way to Malavali station. Never imagined there would be such a severe incident so as to cause loss of a life. I'll abstain myself from indulging in this topic any further as i have little or no idea what was it all about. Nevertheless, R.I.P.
& ketan bhau i can understand what you are talking about spotting xbhp'ians all the way.. It was a familiar site with most of us. Xbhp'ians or other bikers from the ride were scattered throughout the arena between Panvel & BWMC. Alike you, even we found a lot many groups of small people taking a halt on various locations throughout the way. We almost stopped at a few places but we were waved to move ahead & we did so as there were others behind us who would've stopped & gathered too.
The situation was alike on the return journey to mumbai as well. I met a couple of riders coming back from Pavana when we were going to pavana, met a couple others near lonavala market, some of them on expressway & finally a big chunk of xbhp'ians stopped by near khopoli having sugarcane juice & finally they waved me to stop for the first time.
Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding Percy had already reached Panvel so I had to catch up with him & hence I couldn't stop. So i waved the xbhp'ians on sugarcane stall goodbye, they waved back & that was last of them that i saw that day

I too experienced the similar things .... well as told no1 followed the formation and the GIR guy on ninja kept waving his hands in the fair ... fell really bad about the scenario and it was kind of a turn off ... well after reading all the posts from senior members as well as juniors i am pretty relaxed that atleast some people were there observing such rowdiness and do not encourage these.
And about the incident i saw a group standing by close to the petrol pump ... parked my bike and went to the guy to check if he is ok ... fortunately he was ... but to my surprise except for one or two other guys no1 even made an effort to atten to him... fell really sad about the incident but also was contented that his gears have saved him and he escaped with few cut on his fingers.
Well for me personally it was a nice day ... got lot to learn ... from mistakes and also from some good riders whom i do not even know ... thankful to everyone here for bringing in this topic and we should make an attempt to be safe and let others be safe on roads....
