@Sird- Boss upload the group pic which you clicked at Sula Parking...

Visit this link for beaches in Konkan-- The finest among them is Tarkarli Beach, around 500KM from Mumbai..

@Sushrut : LOL! too bad! i was hoping to meet some xbhp nasik friends... sadly none turned up... perhaps the next time

@Sird :konkan is prolly the best thing to happen for a biker in & around maharashtra / mumbai although i feel pune is a better strategically located place to head out of city & head to the hills.

even for the basic fun of riding... start off from mumbai to goa... u will have blazing hot straights, insane twisties, the road going up & down like an anaconda in heat & what not... this is the most frequented route from mumabi to goa. its also equally dangerous too since there are no separate lanes for to-&-fro traffic & the route is frequented by truckers & lorries in large numbers. this route is also one of the most casualty causing routes in india.

besides this, there are innumerable insane mountain passes, extreme twisties, etc. around the entire konkan region - a few to name are the famed kashedi ghat, the bhoste ghat, the phaltan ghat, the ambet ghat, my favorite kumbharli ghat, the purandar ghat, the radtondi / mahabaleshwar ghat, the amboli ghat, the malshej ghat, the amba ghat, the chorla ghat, the tamhini ghat and a few dozen others...

there are over a few dozen temples that you may visit - vyadeshwar, kunkeshwar, maraleshwar, ganpatipule, hedavi, chaaphal, battis shirala, sangameshwar, rayareshwar, etc. as well - roads to all these are a heaven for bikers.

being very humble, it will take @least 3~4 months for you [assuming u ride every weekend] to visit / indulge / fully enjoy all these pristine locations... they offer an experience to a biker like no other.

as pavan rightly mentioned konkan is orgasmic in rains & post-rains, since the entire region transforms from its usual rugged presence in summers, to pristine & mesmerizing unparalleled beauty in / after rains.

apologies for the long write-up but if ur g/f is all a praise about konkan... show some respect & evaluate the facts - perhaps she is right!

as for alibaug... a word of friendly advise... monsoons transform the oceans in to demonic & even more unpredictable entities... the otherwise amicable sea takes on a completely opposite role in monsoons... samundar ko jawaani aa jati hain baarish mein! if at all u visit any of the beaches... please respect the seas & be very very careful... dont do / let ur friends do anything stOOpid.

@RyderPavan : good to know. will let u know. who knows, perhaps i will have a different machine to ride by then

@DeVille : lol sam_sata called me from kamat's - i was already 20 kms ahead of kamat's by that time. so i decided to continue ahead solo & reached home @ 1530 hrs. so yes, i disappeared

We cant go all the way to Tarkarli, as my wife cant sit for so long journey (as with most ladies).

Hence, please suggest some nice place in between with Good beach, Good Sea Food, and a Good place to stay.

We have 4 days in hand, so don't mind going 2 places.

My friend and his wife will be accompanying us in my car. (One more lady who has problem sitting long in a car)

Thanks in advance for all the suggestions......
From ratnagiri onwards you have options like kunkeshwar, devgad etc. But all those are almost near to malvan. If you don't wish to go that far then try other places near dapoli or guhagar. Dive agar, srivardhan, anjarle, velneshwar, hedvi etc. You can manage two places, like velneshwar and hedvi or srivardhan and dive agar......
Hope this helps....... Other Konkan guys, please provide options if i have missed out on something

              OMG Someone start Konkan Trip.

Even I want to go GOA.
The way I'd been to Goa is useless
(Flight from Delhi to Goa > Reach Vasco by 10-11pm > get drunk @ friend's place > back to Delhi next day or afternoon, lol it was useless sh1t !)

But going Goa via Train / Bus seems logical to me.
Go stress free, rent a bike and enjoy the time, else taking care of riding gears & Own biek is a big problem if going for a week or so for Enjoying.
And I just replaced the whole Body of my 220, so don't wanna Booze & bang.

there are over a few dozen temples that you may visit - vyadeshwar, kunkeshwar, maraleshwar, ganpatipule, hedavi, chaaphal, battis shirala, sangameshwar, rayareshwar, etc. as well - roads to all these are a heaven for bikers.
              Seriously, I'm into Bhagwan's.
I believe in them but I stick to my Father's rule "Bhagwan Hai, apna kaam khud karo. Jitna bhakti banoge, Utna aur ban na padega"
And I too believe this fact. So taking Hanuman Ji's name on each tuesday seems more legit to me.
I don't have any religious knowledge too, and then people "Ye kia, ye aise nahi hona tha. Galat kar diya".

              Yea I won't leave you :P
I want someone with me, new as me to those places to get excited same as me
Else other known people might say "He's mad".

AFAIK bhandardhara doesn't falls in Konkan region... It falls on the road towards Nasik (Not exactly, we have to take a turn after Shahpur, the one on which we were riding towards Sula)....so no beaches..ok?? But it is good in Monsoon....Lake Arthur is nice.... you can stay in MTDC hotels...Also, I see there will be few lady pillions so you can take your madam... This is just a personal opinion..

No beach and not greenery like Konkan.

so this merely proves that speedometers of all yer bikes were fried up - mebbe due to the wine & heat

@Sird : lol... instead of me explaining the greatness of bhandardada, just wiki it - Bhandardara - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - for details. suffice to say, its a h00t of a destination especially in monsoons! but i dont think i will be joining u guys for any monsoon rides - i sh|t bricks riding avenger in wet - hell even a tiny wee wet patch on the road is enuff for the bike to go fishtailing! my family jewels are made of flesh just yet - i will do wet riding on my avenger when they turn to titanium! thank you very much!

Bhandardara will be fun to ride in monsoon. Lush greenery. U guys look for the road via ghoti. After the 2nd toll naka on nashik highway take a right turn after few kms u will find a right turn for bhandardara. Bad Road conditions is a common issue once u left the national highway. Neways an enjoyable ride.
