I guess mine is the last batch of last Sunday's G2G pics. Putting down a few lines on the lead-up, the ride and the entire experience..

After the recce I did on Sat evening of the meeting place, I was unusually exhausted as I was in full gear and was sweating buckets. This gave me a nice headache that was stuck like a lame Bollywood song you inadvertently heard in a rick! Couldn't get the bike washed despite getting it serviced in time as the Bajaj SVC's washer boy at Airoli vanished for quite a few days. Bought a spider net for the backpack from Sunshine Helmets, Thane, sped home and decided to atleast hit the sack by 10.30 and wake up by 5.15 am, so that I would be fresh next day
But in keeping with the "delayed" theme, packing in the backpack, getting everything ready meant that I missed the 10.30 pm sleeping deadline; forget 10.30 I was wide awake at even 11.30- surfing xBhp and going through our thread. And by the time I was done it was.......12.30 am!! This wasn't good- nothing was going as per plan and I was regretting going for that recce. Now I had to somehow fall asleep asap and though I'm normally good at this, guess what- I just couldn't sleep and that stupid headache was still throbbing away! Riding, anxiety, excitement ensured I could barely sleep. And just when I did, the alarm went off. 5.12 my iPhone flashed... lazed and snoozed for 5 mins and then told myself- GO GO GO!!! Checked if all was fine- gear, bag, headache- yes everything was present. Gobbled some breakfast, decided to kill the damn headache with a Crocin, geared up and left.

Roads ere deserted, the sun was just rising and finally I was feelin good on the road- E. Expressway was empty and I was riding at a fair clip and wondering why didn't I spot any fellow members enroute. Just then I spotted a white headlight coming up fast in my RVM and as it came close I saw the blue R15 of Joy (dunno his username) and tho I didn't know him earlier, when I saw him geared, I smiled and knew it was most probably a fellow member

Reached Lodha and saw 7-8 bikes just where I thought they should be. Glanced at my watch- 6.22...and... No headache...Perfect! Now let the pics do the talking....

Some facts now- Dunno the last time I woke up at 5 in the last 5 years AND felt fresh and energetic after sleeping for barely 4 hrs!

        EDIT:

        Scope for improvement
        - Here are some things that can be improved upon in future rides-
        1. Formation- As Viraj mentioned earlier, Things were a lil unorganized at the rear. It is understandable that nobody would like to ride at the fag end if it's a slower bike, hence I positioned myself somewhere in the middle. Maybe next time we should try a more rigid formation?
        2. Overtaking was rampant- I guess the sight of the FZ1, BMW and the Ninjas got everyone excited. I was guilty of it too, but after the big bikes sped outta sight, I restrained myself
        3. Member contacts- Not sure if any of the frontrunners had a sheet of all participants' contact details. (If someone did, please ignore this point) A paper sheet is necessary as you never know when phones/tabs will run out of juice
        4. Riding safety- All of us like to open the throttle when we see the wide, smooth straight tarmac that the Mum- Nasik highway was. But I noticed that many of us sped through many red lights. While returning, after the Kamat's stopover there was a red light and there were some locals waiting to cross. There were Pandus to on the other side in a Bolero who were seemingly oblivious, 2 members ahead of me slowed down and I was hopping they stop. But they didn't. I almost did, but then saw a speeding Tavera looming large in my RVM and though it wiser to take off than be rear-ended! :/

        Observations-
        1. Joy, I have never seen a previous-gen R15 so well maintained and so gorgeous! Kudos for the effort you have put in!
        2. Sumit @Sird- Those cobalt blue wheels look dark, nice and unique. I think the 1st time I've seen coloured alloys that IMO look good on an Indian bike
        3. The N650s were a sight for sore eyes- Especially when we made that stop before entering Nasik- the parking lights on with the LED taillight looked fantastic
        4. @qwerty- Your P220 sounds like a much bigger bike and makes one hell of a racket with all the mods and that exhaust

For me, it was a learning experience too. Sustaining 100+ speeds is something I don't do often and the vibes form my old P200 left my numb, so much so that when we had to slow down at The Kasara ghat, my foot couldn't feel the shifter and I dropped to only 3rd gear and stalled the motor when I should have hit 1st! The twisties then got me so excited that I overcooked 2 of the first 5 corners! :P
The toughest part of the ride was the return after we descended from the ghats- The hot gusts of heavy wind and dusty breeze had me yearning for a full-faired bike;was so hungry that I was desperately hoping Sachin and other at the front stop asap for lunch

There were many points where I wanted to pause and take pics but I was paranoid about missing the group and being left behind. So decided to put my head down and ride. Landscape pics can be snapped next time too, but don't deviate from the group I consoled myself!

All in all, it was a fantastic Sunday for me- A Sunday other Sundays have to live up to!

          Thanks a lot
Each time someone compliments on those I feel "PasiaWasool" :P

I always wanted to get this thing done from 2011. But wanted a finish like this, not like my other friends have or the bad one that I see on other bikes in Mumbai.

Well it was Comet blue, Cobalt blue is a bit blue-inkish color.

                            Sird,
I did this route on 28th May. The road is good upto Solapur. Post that it is all broken roads till Hyd with small good patches in between. I started the ride at 2200 hrs from Navi Mumbai and reached Hyd city by 1200 hrs with speeds not exceeding 110 kmph. If you start early by 4 am should be good enough.

Edit :- Regarding rains - There are no rains in Hyd. U may face cross winds though.

                            Regards,
                            Deepan
