I did Mumbai-Pune-Lavasa-Pune-Mumbai this weekend with my Pune's office friends & @RideHard who is an Xbhpian, belongs to Pune, is my colleague and drives a 2011 P180 UG IV , we also had a friend with a pillion on his 2012 Avenger 220... ( [MENTION=61028]whymail[/MENTION]... are you reading this?? )

The Lavasa ride was nice with rains everywhere.. We made it to Lavasa but did not get a chane to enjoy because it was already 5Pm and we had to ride back as well...

The last Pune-mumbai leg had rains all over the highway on Monday.. Whole 150KM in rain.. Then got stuck in massive traffic jam on Monday at Sion-Panvel highway.. had to take a day off on Monday.. I was on my 2006 P180 and my friend was on a P135... We both were comfortably doing 70-90 in those rains.. I had these tubeless TVS tires in my P180 and I must say they stick to the ground very well... Even at those speeds the bike did not showed any sign of slipping/ skidding and all that..!!
As of now my bike is running very hard and jam.. Will be going to drop her at a local mechanic in Bhandup today...


I know everyone is aware of the fact but still if any one is planning for the rides in these rains then please make sure that you cover your bag and yourself thouroughly with rain coats and what not...

PS:- I know I am very bad at writing.. but still, thanks for reading this experience...

we also had a friend with a pillion on his 2012 Avenger 220... ( @whymail... are you reading this?? )

2 points:
1. its a 220 and not a 200 w/ 6 yr old rubber
2. that friend of urs has lots of balls (i have only 2... & mine are perhaps not as big as what he has)

Hey Guys!!! I have finally zeroed in on Aaravi Beach. It is a beach that is equidistant from Shrivardhan, Diveagar & HairHareshwar. Has anybody been to this beach before? Also, I am about to book rooms in Shri Sadguru Resort on that beach.

Anybody has any ideas about the beach and the resort? Any input is welcome, as there is no review on the net.

I did this route on 28th May. The road is good upto Solapur. Post that it is all broken roads till Hyd with small good patches in between. I started the ride at 2200 hrs from Navi Mumbai and reached Hyd city by 1200 hrs with speeds not exceeding 110 kmph. If you start early by 4 am should be good enough.

Edit :- Regarding rains - There are no rains in Hyd. U may face cross winds though.

Hmmm.... brings back memories of my Bangalore ride in March last year...5.30Am to 7.30 PM - 1050 kms.. not bad for a (then) 37k kms old 220 which is now 63k kms old, by the way

This Saturday I am riding on following route Thane - Kasara - Vihigoan - Deogoan - Ghoti - Thane

Total 260 kms approx.

Road conditions include Highway + Ghat + Village roads

Will be starting ride early around 5:00 AM from Thane.

Currently only 2 of us are confirmed, both in run-in so we will be riding with speed restrictions.

Anyone wants to join please let me know...

Guys, please reply to my above query...The beach is approximately 170 KMs from Mumbai. Anybody who has been to either Shrivardhan or Diveagar or Harihareshwar recently please comment on the conditions of the road. Also, is it ok to travel now as monsoon is in full form?

Never wanted to push much in rain.

My chances 50-50.
I'll confirm later.

But if wet road and Ghat curves like those on Nasik way to Sula Wine.
I'll be dead slow.

[MENTION=35854]chinmayakar[/MENTION] - I used the NH 17 upto chiplun about 3 weeks ago and theres a lot of road work in progress along this route upto Mangaon. Due to this there are a lot of "not so well marked" diversions. About the route after you turn right from NH 17, i have never heard of it being in a good condition. I hope this helps.

Uncle thats the beauty of solo ride. U tend to take lesser breaks of shorter durations. The running in was the second 800 Km batch runin. So could maintain speed of 100-110.

Aarvi beach u r talking about is on the way from diveagar to shriwardhan. From mangaon reach mhasala good road conditions.take right turn towards diveagar nice ghat n good road condition. The beach is mostly found lonely n not much hotels around except 1 or 2 shacks. Clean beach . N shriwardhan would be just 3 -5 kms away. Enjoy diving at Shriwardhan n a ride along arvi

60 kph to occasional 70 kph maximum

The resort looks pretty budget type ... and considering the type of pics they have posted in the website, good to give a skip . (Though the beach looks promising)
