Helmet speakers suck big time, atleast the ones that are available here!
A rather apt approcah would be to get your self a nice helmet, and get in ear buds...

Or better still what I personally use
a Jabra BT (forgot the model name: google around for Jabra Dog Tag) hook it up with my phone and my iPod (using a BT transmitter) and presto! two in one!

That's a nice alternative... but I am not sure if this is what I want. I looked up its video on youtube. Item dhaasu hain pan the same issue with this... slipping in the ear buds through the helmet and I am so fed up of that. You go into a bump and headset's alignment changes and then it keeps hurting your ear till u fix it again. In fact, I don't need the dog tag because primarily what it does is allows u to leave your phone in the pocket even whilst using it. For the same purpose I have made a cover on the front visor on bike. I leave my phone in the pocket in the cover and operate it whenever required. Now that u suggested not to take the helmet speakers I am left with no other option but keep using the same thing I am using right now. Especially at the price quoted i.e. 40USD I think I will give it a a pass. Life's not easy for a biker! :/

^^ wearing a balaclava somewhat restricts the possibility of the headset moving around or slipping & yaa it works for me ...
yess & the excellent padding of daijya helps too
