Guys. I need to buy a rainwear for riding and casual use. Can anyone suggest one? How is the Quechua 300?? I have used the Duckback diplomat, and it got totally screwed in my Leh ride last year. The inner layer developed cracks and then tore off as it was worn over the riding jacket most of the times. Any other suggestions?

Comin to the pants, the liner of the Odysseus pants should be fine on G2Gs but for daily use will have to switch to rain paints… @viraj_s85 @RyderPavan n others who went for the recent ride- what kinda raingear did y'all use? Was it good enough? Please suggest. Danke!

all depends on budget. I swear by Joe rocket but they cost $$$. Next best would be original duck back rain coat and rain pants. Wear your riding jackets and pants when you go to buy one

@ranechinmay : thanks mitra, pan windhcheater ne purna bhijen re me. no merit in wearing a windcheater :-/

@steelbreeze & @DeVille : i myself am hunting for a good set of waterproof gear. the duckback is, i.m.h.o., not quiet upto the mark - from my school days then duckbacks used to weigh some 7kilos of pure jet-black pandu-scaring rubber raincoats to the present day dual-liner material; prolly its water repellant quality has gone to the pits.

i checked the quechua range @ hymermart, ghodbunder road [they have a massive, bloddy massive collection for outdoor activities gear on the 1st floor, just in case anybody wants to check it out] & honestly it doesnt seem to be entirely waterproof. the zippers, the seams & the pocket liners are not double-fused & having a PU / Rubber overhangs - that means we will have water seepage in a downpour / motorcycle riding...

there are loads of options available online but as @rkakkar rightly stated, most all of those cost my 6-months salary!

am thinking of investing in a gore-tex instead - agar paisa kharch karna he hain then why not invest in the better ones? [god willing & wifey allowing ;-)]

in the interim, my search continues...

There are 2 duckback in the market. One is made in Bengal and another in Bihar/UP (Don't remember exactly). Bought one made from Bengal. Company name is Bengal Waterproof Ltd.

Have been using a basic rain suit - Rider (jacket + pants) costing some 1200 for last 3 years. Absolutely no leakage, dries in half hour, absolute VFM.
