How many of them want to know DIY stuff and which topic in particular.. Please list down a master list of topics and then which of these are upi interested to learn.



DIY = Do It Yourself.... There is an interesting analogy to it which I will share in the first meet...


PS: Stop comparing yourself with Pune and all... Pune folks meet every mid week for a casual G2G as well, the sheer volumes of G2Gs and the availability of the fantastic places like Motocafe makes it an ideal place for such discussion.... Apna gang doesnt meet as often...

Lets keep it simple for the start...

- Know Your Bike...as in key parts their importance and location on the bike
- Daily checks and inspection
- Beginners maintenance procedure
- Changing Oil--with recommended oil change procedure and schedule
- Cleaning air filter--same as oil change
- Cleaning spark plugs
- Adjusting Brake freeplay for bikes with drum brakes
- Adjusting Clutch freeplay

This should be good enough to get people interested in the programme and get started

@All ...... I am thinking to prepone tomorrow's "Gorai Beach + Uttan Village" ride to today keeping in mind that tomorrow is Dusshera and people may be having some family commitments to fulfill .... Any one GAME for it?

Itinerary :-
Leave Andheri -> 3:00pm
Reach Gorai Beach -> 4:30pm
Leave Gorai Beach -> 5:10pm
Reach Uttan Village (Lighthouse, Church) -> 5:30pm
Leave by -> 7pm
Reach Dhaba (Optional) -> 8pm
Leave for Home -> 10pm
Reach Home -> Before midnight !!

Mandatory Gears :-
1. Helmet
2. Jeans
3. Shoes
4. A Good Camera

Papers (Strictly checked @ Gorai-Uttan Police check post) :-
1. Valid DL
2. Valid PUC
3. Copy of Insurance

Very good points raised Rony..!!
This kind of meet will be definitely very helpful & useful for each of us. Am sure everyone here would be interested & curious to know the How-To-Do basic things on our bike. Even am in for such wonderful knowledge distribution g2g.!

@Pranit_Crystal Myth .. if its an in-city meet, then no need of 'full gears' I guess, but the more gears & safe, the better.! B'coz, wearing a gear should be a habit rather then a rule now..!

If we need a mech,then id suggest we meet up at reddys garage at goregaon.He is a nice chap,i am sure he would oblige as he is open on sundays.

But i guess he is very busy on sundays. He has more vehicle to deal with.

Know ur bike

This is an good initiative for beginners like me who have to go 2 mech now & than 4 small small things.
Goregoan meet will be a best options has many of the XBHpians know him & reddy know them.
We can decide any sunday & Take prior Appointment from him.
If he is very busy. We can pay him some bugs like we can contribute 20/- or 50/- bugs each & pay him.
But this meet shud be in good number of people. so that he can earn his best.
So seniors pls look into the matter at the earliest.
We can decide such kind of meets each month & has the months will passs on we will not need mech n our experienced seniors will be our mentors

Many topics are listed in that Chennai thread ... Seniors can sort them out in order of importance and tackle some in batches during consecutive G2Gs ... It would be better if seniors themselves enlist relevant topics and you in particular could take the lead in doing so for all the right reasons !!

Regarding xBhp-Punekars, I was not comparing ourselves with them but deriving some inspiration to better our gang !

Nyah the idea isnt for me\us to venture into another thread to find out information.
