nice meeting new thane guys. didn't expect such a turnout for Thane in city g2g

14-13 guys were there with two guests (non registered, but xbhp readers)

andy, me , P220noob, mayur, Mandar, Kishore, Joel, sunnybright, Swapnil, ninad, pushkaraj etc. sabka naam yaad rehena thoda mushkil hai

anyways, Ninad has the money for Tees and caps. I have his bike's number

First we met at upvan lake, in next 15-20 mins decided, next time, not to meet there.
no food joints

Ninad collected money and made a nice table of member details with a carbon copy.
Then we went to Hiranandani Medows for some food.
Old xBhp tradition, No G2G is complete without nice food.
Everybody had Frankie's with intros and rides discussion
Sorry guys but for our own safety and honor of xbhp, please everybody should wear a helmet for even a g2g. doesn't matter if you are riding a Comet 250 or a Scooty.
We are the guys who did an awareness rally, remember.

From long time, I wanted to do a long group ride, esp xbhpians, bored of solo rides.
I have a few places in mind, within Maharashtra, which are safe, fun and new for most guys.

I proposed a ride as everybody seemed to be a careful, non "newbie" rider.

When I was doing many rides with xBHpians, before the xBHp website crash,
I had arranged a 2 day ride.

Mumbai to Velneshwar 370 Km*2 = approx. 800km
Saturday morning to Sunday evening

It was first 2 day long ride for Mumbai xBhp, whole xBhp too if I'm not wrong.

Leave early in the morning (6 am), reach Velneshwar by evening. have a blast on the beach at night. leave for mumbai in the morning at about 8-8:30 am

just a suggestion, dont take shortcut from ghoti for shirdi, it is fcuked like anything for bike riding. Instead you can go via nashik, you will enjoy the corners from nashik for sure. Been there just a month back.

hey guys.. can we keep G2G thread limited to G2G planning and logs only. All other discussions, like birthdays, directions for solo rides, merchandise listings, funny coments etc. should take place somewhere else.
This thread can easily become a chat room, as if no one wants to create a new thread for non-G2G topic.
It isn't like if you start a new thread, no one will reply.

In fact, it's better that way, as repetitions can be avoided, wrong advices can be corrected in couple of pages only.
It'll also help new guys use search option and locate a particular thread about required info than going through 500+ pages.
This thread can easily become a chat room, as if no one wants to create a new thread for non-G2G topic.

It's getting messy and difficult to track a particular G2G.

Earlier, we had only one thread for all G2Gs. Then to simplify, we made different threads for different cities. But still, they are G2G threads.

Please don't take this wrong way. I just want to make it easy to read about each G2G, in future, for the sake of some guidance and nostalgia.

also I type when I'm completely sane. Not like a few people, who type something and then show it to their future HR in the interview.

Anyway, I proposed Velneshwar coz most guys from today's Thane G2G haven't been on NH17. Also the route is like very well known to me and Mandar. With strangers, better to walk a known path than unknown.

and no, i don't have any financial interest in this ride. It's just that arrangements for bread and bed are bit easier than other places, as Velneshwar isn't much crowded by tourists.

first off, thanks for remembering the newbs name second off, and i know u didn't knew this, i(and bright_sunny) stay just few mins off from where we all met, and i just wanted to meet all the xBhp'ians and leave off as i had some work at my place, so tell me, just for that u want me to wear helmet and riding gear? and above all the road through which i had to come ain't a highway either...next time when u get down to eat paani puri or snacks thats just mins away from ur place, don't forget to gear up and wear a helmet...nice meeting you...

aye aye sir...servicing this babe has been planned long time ago, but was avoided due to rains (as i would have to go bombay for that, and in rains it's a strict no no for this babe)....will be giving her for servicing this friday and hopefully be getting her back in 2-3 days...and yeah she'll be neat and meaty

see let it be even a few mins ride in city with xbhp but a helmet is must let it be just 150 200 meters so..we are not sayin to wear helmet to go to pani puri an all but itz that when therez a xbhp meet a helmet is a must for in city...the main aim ofXBHP here is to promote safety ..so he just wanted to say when for a xbhp in city meet atleast wear a helmet.. not sayin to wear rest all gear.. but a helmet is a must ...cheerz

I do do that, not the whole gear but, helmet, yes. You can check with my society's security personnel. I do eat a lot of chaat and the bhelpuriwala knows I need space to put my helmet on his Thela
I used to think like you too.
I did see a fatal accident from my balcony (my previous home), two guys', riding on bicycles, sculls crushed by truck's rear wheels. Their brains were on tarmac for more than an hour. It happened in front of Amul shop, nr. Super bakery, Sahyadri soc. Kalwa during the Monsoon of 2005.
I swore from that day to always wear my helmet.
I used to wear a Full size Ninja (studds) helmet on my scooty on the ride to Thana College. My face was save by helmet when I landed on tarmac, while I was trying to save beggers 2-3 year kid who jumped in front of my bike nr Vashi. I've still got the scars on my elbow and ankle.

So chill and learn form your seniors mistakes. Like they used to say, you won't be remembered as a guy who did a brilliant Wheelie or a Christ, but the guy who crashed.

When we meet again, remind me to tell the story of a very good and safe rider, Bikenstien, from Mumbai.
It's not like we have shares of Studds, AGV, DSG, RJays etc.
It kills us to see a scar on our fellow rider's pretty face, dude.
