Last year December I when visited Thosegar it still had some life left in it. I bet it will be an amazing place in monsoons. One of my colleague is from Satara and I have asked him to check the situation of the Kaas Plateau flowers. These flowers are found only at that place and nowhere in the world and they bloom only for 15 days. If you miss those 15 days then you need to wait till the next year. Probably I will get a confirmed date on next monday about Kaas. Ajinkyatara, Thoseghar, Chalkewadi & Sajjangad will be again the places I will visit when in Satara for Kaas.

Jawhar is nature infested hill station everything around looks majestic. Exotic valleys fanned by a wide variety of flora and a very pleasant climate. Jawhar is one of the very few tribal kingdoms of Maharashtra. Jai Vilas is a gateway to explore the tribal way of living. One can also see the famous Warli painting of Jawhar here. Bhupatgad is close by also demands visiting. That apart the other places of attraction in Jawhar are Hanuman Temple, Sunset Points and the majestic 300ft tall Dabhosa waterfall.

Route: (Around 300 kms round trip)

Fountain Hotel to Jawhar, Maharashtra - Google Maps

    Meeting point:
    Fountain Hotel: 6.30 AM

    Confirmed

Why are people suggesting and not coming for this ride?
Guys, I went to Jawhar about 2 back. The road condition is pathetic from on this route Thane-Bhiwandi-Wada-Pali (this is around 45 Kms and it took more than 2 hours to cover it). Lots of potholes on this route. I never felt backache till date on any of my rides but this one was pathetic. Lanes are elevated for no reason and the elevated lanes disappear in no time.

Pali-Jawhar rode is awesome with nice surrondings. Amazingly this road is pothole free. Not even one pothole on this road.

We used Jawhar-Khodala-Kasara Ghat route on the return journey. This road is not that bad and you can easily maintain 50 KMPH of speed. Kasara Ghat and NH3 is in awesome condition. But one thing if you start the return journey via Kasara Ghat then you will land in the middle of the ghat on wrong side (You will land on the lane which will take you to Nashik). You need to go all the way till the Kasara Ghat ends and then take a U-Turn on NH3 for Mumbai. So extra kilometeres there but the ghat is in awesome condition and I bet you wont mind muching those extra miles.

Is that so? Maybe Umbergaon theN?

We're taking the NH 8 route, which is different from the one mentioned here. So should be okay

But thanks a lot for the info RAK!

Anyday buddy. NH 8 route will be far more better as compared to the Thane-Bhiwandi-Wada-Pali route. This route which we took is good for those who want to learn "How to ride on Moon".

Sharing some pics of my ride:

This is the road from Pali - Jawhar. Awesome strech and remains the same till Jawhar. 0 Potholes on this road.

On the way to Dhabosa waterfall:

And finally the famous Dhabosa waterfall:

Didn't go very close to the waterfall as it was raining very heavily.

Any contats in Gapatipule/Ratnagiri for stay? Any suggetions?
