On the straights I doubt if you (read: R15) can overtake a stock ZMA too.

Keep up, maybe! Overtake...unless the ZMA rider is a _________

I doubt if that bike was much faster than the stock Zma as my bike was inches behind his bike on the straight everytime...

Whoa buddy, I just heard from the owners mouth that its been made a 240cc bike. Don't know how much of a difference it made realtime though .

The R15 has superior handling to pull away around the corners, but on the straights the superior torque'ed ZMA/220 will be tough to catch keep up maybe.

Last trackday, you overtook me at one corner (and must add, you executed that overtake superbly) at the entry of every corner I would catch up with you and at the exit you be a few meters ahead. Again a straight and I would catch, come corner...bye bye R15.....

The point is the R15 though has enough grunt to keep up with the big boys, overtaking on straights is a toughie!

PS: Lets end it here...or might lead to war...Already loads of yamma mamma boys hate me...dont want to increase that list!

        • Moreover the R15 has less grunt in the lower rpms making it difficult to have high corner-exit speeds. It lives on the fact that it has amazing handling. So it would be easier for the 220/ZMA to catch up immediately after a corner exit. The RTR would be much better in that regard. We need someone like EngineHacker or Joel who can put the RTR engine on an R15 frame and then.......

P.P.S: Just saw Praful's edit, lets not make this G2G thread a discussion place for something else!

I can't and should not comment about that!

But dude, I must say from what I saw last time of you on the track...for a first timer you were going great guns!

              • I have already deleted the post that you have quoted above and let's not do anymore comaprisions between R15/TR/ZMA/P220/200 etc.
I think you are also mistaking me for Insidious who was riding my bike and was overtaking you because I don't remember overtaking any red P220 on the track.

No dude...I was watching them going in this order for some 2 - 3 laps. I was near the C2...I dono what happened after they passed me.....

This happened at C2 .....His brakes wouldnt just do what they were supposed to do ...the front brakes failed when he applied ( dont know what happened technically).. ..he should explain it better.....

I lost my concentration man. I took C1 above 120 for the first time. I was so excited at seeing 120 on the speedo that I forgot abt C2 .. Imagine missing your braking point entering C2.. and added to that brake was not bleeded properly also..So couldn't get down the speed in time.. Went off-roading at around 90(not sure) and ended up in that pit. Thanks to Manoj, Vicky, Guru, Anand, Varun and others present there.. they got the bike out.

Its in a bad state. At the SS right now.. Had to replace the front and side fairings.. the front end was vibrating a lot..

                          • @praful : A stock ZMA can never keep up with the R15 on the track because of its soft front end and high riding posture.... anand's zma was on stock handle bars which made his riding position also different..... after a few laps I slowed down and i forgot about the rider behind me..... then Anand caught up and i had to catch him back again..... but honestly, it is very difficult for a rider to keep his concentration at the max when he is following an R15 on the track...... tha chances of a person crashing while trying to take an r15 down is pretty high (if all riders are almost of the same caliber)........
no words about the 220 though....... at the IMOTY.... i remember that the p220 was just a second slower than the r15 on the track....... i guess the mid range grunt and the quickness to the top end compensates.....

@shajiv : Ask them to bleed both the brakes before they give the bike to you.....
where are the pics taken by you ???

@manoj :Thanks for the pics da machi........
