      Chennai - Retteri - Tada - Srikalahasthi - Tiruppathi - Papavinasanam - Tiruppathi - Tiruthani - Tiruvallur - Chennai.

Beautiful roads from : Chennai - Retteri - Tada - Srikalahasthi - Tiruppathi - Papavinasanam

Worst Broken roads from Tiruppathi - Tiruthani - Tiruvallur - Thirumazhisai

      Overall a fun Saturday.

pl PM your contact number. And what is the meeting point in Koy?
Today as planned me(devesh) and Yellowspunk(sriram) went for the bike ride through the following route: Koyembedu- chennai bypass highway- puduvoyal-periyapalayam-uthukottai(palavakkam in map)-pitchatoor-srikalahasti-sutturupeta-[redhills(retteri lake)-100feet road]-koyembedu

The route changed a little bit from above planned in map as took chennai bypass highway and missed the ambattur road. So went straight to puduvoyal and to uthukotai(palavakam in map) via periyapalayam. It was still around 260odd kms.

It was really fun. The road from puduvoyal to periyapalam is not that good. Otherwise the roads are pretty good. there was one stretch which was very very smooth road and no traffic at all. plus full of trees.

There was least amount of traffic on the way. It was also one of best mornings that i have seen chennai. The sun didn't show up(i.e. was in clouds) till 11am. Pics will be followed soon after little editing.

@Yellowspunk : It was really very good riding with you. Looking forward to more rides with you and other here on forum in future.

        • Hi guys, I'm bored of touring alone.
          Yesterday, I had a trip from Chennai - Vellore - Kanchipuram - Chengalpattu - Mahabalipuram - Chennai.
Fun 330 kms. Roads were good except for the Kanchipuram - Chengalpattu stretch.

Here's the route map I followed.

If anyone is planning for a trip (~400 kms) in the last week of the month, please keep me in the loop as well. I need company.

          • ^^^ That is a boring route as well
You need to try, Chennai - Chengalpet - Melmaruvathur - Vandavasi - Kanchipuram - Sriperumbudur - Chennai. Try once, you'll love it

              Thanks RG!
I studied that route closely in GMaps. Looks promising.
Plus, 230 odd kms is quite doable.

Vandavasi has some French-UK war memorabilia. Some forts here and there.
Are there any "tourist" destinations in the other places you mentioned?

              • ^^^ Usually I don't do site seeing; I only RIDE as long as roads are inviting. This is one good route I know.

If you need some alternative, check my "Where are you going today" thread on the touring section, you might find some good alternatives.
