Guys,
I'm looking forward to upgrade my helmet. I had visited few popular shops in Mount Road and GP Road. However, they all sing only one song 'We do not have AGV and they have stopped manufacturing'. I have also posted in Helmet thread with respect to other available brands such as LS2 and Cross.
Thought would also seek help from very known Chennai gang to decide whether should I go hunt for AGV or settle which is available.
I have seen many giving good reviews about AGV at the same time few of Chennai G2G gang using LS2 and Cross.
I'm looking for VFM, reliability and to an extent good visor (tolerable scratch resistant) that comes along.
Your valuable comments are welcome in Helmet thread where I have posted. Could you please share some points with pros and cons?RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Steve, could you give some directions as where I can get one?Originally posted by steveburnside2001 View Poststick to an AGV - suits all your needs. i have had 2 AGV helmets so far and my third helmet will be an AGV as well.
So far have tried with Pioneer Helmet - Mount Road and GP Road (both the shops). Any other reference would be appreciated.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Try Sree Padham Enterprises GP Rd. next to Helmet Paradise (or is it Palace?)

Madhu just bought a LS2 & As per him the style quotient & comfort level is topnotch. For 3000 Rs. It may sound costly, But as per him it is absolute VFM.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostGuys,

Anyway, My recommendation would be: Get an Original AGV - With a extra Visor. Supreme on the highways. Weight could be something you might have to get used to.
It is Helmet Paradise. Should be the last shop on the left side before entering Mount Road.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostTry Sree Padham Enterprises GP Rd. next to Helmet Paradise (or is it Palace?)
Alternatively you could refer my name & get a meager discount too
I have already got some 5 helmets from them now (All AGVs)

Gosh! Should have tried other shops too in GP Road, since I was in a hurry to get back to office skipped visiting other than Pioneer Helmet. Let me visit Shree Padam and Helmet Paradise to try my luck. I'm not sure if they are working today due to Ayudha Puja. I don't mind giving a try.
Ananth: So AGV helmet comes with a spare visor is it? If that is the case, would watch out. Weight should not be a problem, that is something I should get used to it eventually.

@Sri - If you are going today, fine, but if its on Monday, can I go along with you? I like to buy one AGV tooOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View PostLet me visit Shree Padam and Helmet Paradise to try my luck. I'm not sure if they are working today due to Ayudha Puja. I don't mind giving a try.
Well, I use Studs Ninja & I felt Steve's helmet was lighter than Studs. So IMO, AGV is the one to go for.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostWeight should not be a problem, that is something I should get used to it eventually.

FYI, Steve's Helmet does not have a extra inner padding. So its lighter than the usual ones. Just Wear them & see the fit and comfort before you buy.Originally posted by aargee View PostWell, I use Studs Ninja & I felt Steve's helmet was lighter than Studs. So IMO, AGV is the one to go for.
Select helmets that fit snugly all the way around.

I'm also planning to upgrade my helmet. I've narrowed it down to AGV K-3 (silver) (Rs.14,500) or Stealth Black (Rs.24,000).... They are available in ebay (Bachoo motors)... Or you can directly deal with Bachoo motors (mumbai)... they may even give you a discount in this case...
These helmet's are the genuine stuff...so comes at a premium price.
