Had fun on the ride, the CBRs were pretty impressive and did turn a lot of heads. I had imagined them to be a little bigger, to be honest though but they looked really nice and compact. Honda really needs to get the front bumper ..er.. number plate holder thingy changed. It is spoiling the look of a really nice looking bike.
Saw my first "Joeled" R15, and it was running pretty well. Look fwd to other mods Akshay.
It was great meeting everyone and riding with you all, we should do this more often.
Thanks for letting me know, as always Adi. If there is any ride on the 12th of June, I am in. Am not in Blr this weekend and next Sat.Last edited by sammyboy76; 05-30-2011, 01:35 PM.2017 KTM Duke 390

Sure will do..Originally posted by Praful View PostGuys, the TW ride will be flagged off from the Wrangler showroom in Indira Nagar around 10-11AM on 1st June. Not sure about the timings yet, will know in a day's time.
I know its a working weekday, but if anyone is free do come down
Followed your advice and rode down to Anchetty yesterday before the wedding.
Started by 3 from here, stopped in Hosur for some fuel asked for directions there and rode down. Beautiful place and a really good ride..
The roads were curvy and so scenic. Rode till Anchetty, had some nice hot bondas there and was back in Hosur by 7. Attended the wedding and came back. Stopped in a few places in between. A really good ride.
Thanks again for the tip!
We are miles away from the routine.

^^ Oh got carried away by bigger bikes?
Ninja and CBR are also "BIG" bikes.

BTW I almost had a slip on Bruna yesterday, luckily nothing happened and I got away safely.
I want to ask Ninja owners, how good do you rate the Continental tyres compared to IRC on Ninja? I am in moods to change the tyres to something better gripping and sticking ones than the present. Got shit scared yesterday, thought CBR is over.

Of course CBR and Ninja big enough for other 100cc's bikes..
i was going through the CBR thread and read the reviews of the Contigo tires are way too slippery in rainy seasons.. do not know why so, if they are made up of soft compound material , this should not be the case..
Try doing a burnout..
. for a better tire grip..
IRC are very expensive. 8.5k for the rear..
I would recommend you to go for a PSD and last lot (as per dealer) is available for 3.8k (rear). Have not tested it till now, as thread is still left in my IRC Tire. but purchased it and kept it safely for future use..

By PSD you mean Pirelli Sport Daemon? Then no way yaar, I dont know if its that particular tyre or otherwise, on my Pulsar, I have a Pirelli tubeless Sport Daemon in rear and it slips mostly when I press hard rear brake. About grip, not so sure, but tyre lasts a long time.
Is zapper that good or is only hype?

Yes, PSD means Pirelli Sports deamon.Originally posted by ajaymanohar View PostBy PSD you mean Pirelli Sport Daemon? Do pulsars now come in with PSD as stocks or you got it replaced to PSD.
Under hard braking of the rear, i think all tires will skid. I heard PSD is sticky so the life is a bit less.
I am not sure whether you will get a zapper for 140/70 section.and they are not so sticky as the PSD. IMO.RIP Marco

I had a small close call too. Was taking a tight right turn on MG Road at the Chinnaswamy stadium and there was a getz on my left. The lights were green and i was carrying slightly more speed than required. When i was halfway into the turn my i felt my front tire losing grip and it was like i was on a patch of oil. I rolled off the throttle and did not grip the bars as one would normally do. Was a bit scary but the bike behaved.Originally posted by ajaymanohar View PostBTW I almost had a slip on Bruna yesterday, luckily nothing happened and I got away safely.

Thanks to Keith Code's dvd and Nick Ienatsch's book i made it out of this safely.
Survival instincts can be nasty.
Regarding the tires, i dont know how the conti's fare. The IRC's are just about OK. Nothing great to write about. I've had quite a few close calls with this tire. You're better off with Michelin's or Pirelli Sport Demon's.
On the contrary soft compound tires suck in wet conditions. Thats why most street tires are dual compound tires.Originally posted by vkuchhal View Posti was going through the CBR thread and read the reviews of the Contigo tires are way too slippery in rainy seasons.. do not know why so, if they are made up of soft compound material , this should not be the case..ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

Edit - Aditya, just saw your post, looks like you guys spotted some pretty sweet wheels yest, will ride with you guys next weekend.
Talk of vested interests.
Soft tyres grip well ONLY on dry tarmac. All other surfaces & conditions are a compromise & harder compounds would offer better grip.Originally posted by vkuchhal View Postif they are made up of soft compound material , this should not be the case..
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
