I always take this route, only recently a board saying 'Coorg' has come up there.
Yup courtesy no board we always almost used to skip it!!

The route is good if you are riding solo but me had a pillion and on top of that there was this heavy back pack as well!!!

The best part was we stopped on this route in between for a short Butt break and poof it was a complete black out!!!
That was li'l scaring coz the network was also not there!!

Another thing, i'm looking for a tank bag. I saw you had one in one of your bike pics. Which one is that?

    • I actually enjoy that route more than the butter smooth stuff before and after this stretch.

I have a cramster tankbag! Pretty good, just that the design of the rain cover for this bag is flawed. But that can be fixed with safety pins.LoL.

      • Mr Praful, you were in my area and I had absolutely no clue, would have considered joining you, had I known. That stretch from Mysore to Kushalnagar is heavenly and might I suggest a trip to Kannur, the nearest beach to Mysore, the roads in the ghats have been recently laid and are a hoot to ride, went there in a car 2 weeks ago though

^^ Thanks for the info. You mean to say the Hunsur-Gonikoppal-Kannur route right? Will give it a shot sometime

I had gone to Kannur about 16 years back . Had Idiappam and Mutton Stew there, I still remember the taste... Yummy!

            • Who's in for an early morning ride on Saturday, Jul 31st? i'm planning to ride towards Mysore (Maddur actually, for breakfast) since its been quite some time I did that route.

Do let me know who's in for sure and then I'll put up the plan.

If anyone wants to head elsewhere please suggest and we can work it out.

                    • Ride to Chamundi Hills, Mysore

After buying myself the R15,I, always wanted to ride down to Mysore.
Was discussing weekend ride plans with Aditya (n_aditya) last week, & we zeroed in on Chamundi Hills.
With no one else able to make it for the ride, Aditya (Ninja250R) & I (R15) rode to Mysore yesterday.
We met at 5 AM at Malleswaram, & entered Mysore by 9ish.
This after an hour long breakfast break at Adiga's, Maddur & a couple of short breaks here & there.

Here are some pics from the ride
                      At Chamundi Hills

Some curious poser college students we met at the hill. (One of them was doing almost knee-down cornering with slippers )

                      Aditya's Ninjaaaaah!

                      At the Mysore Palace

We had awesome (read cool) weather all the way upto Chamundi Hills, & on the way back till about Ramnagaram. After that, the Sun started beating down (roughly 3 pm), & Mysore Road (till Sirsi Circle flyover) was choc-a-bloc with traffic.

I was the slower one of the 2, partly coz of a smaller bike & partly due to my riding abilities (rather inabilities ). Poor Adi was frustrated having to pull over/ slow down & wait for me sometimes.

Overall, it was an awesome fun ride, and the bikes showed what they are built for - high speeds & open roads.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                          Good weekend ride there!
The photo with bikes parked in front of the palace looks great!
Mysore has a special place in my heart for I used to spend summer vacation at my grandpa's place. Chamundi Hill is superb early in the morning.

Thanks man! Those clicks in front of the palace took some effort. I'm really glad they came out so well
We were at Chamundi at about 10am, & it was really awesome as it was cloudy & the Sun wasn't around. We fortunately got the best weather we could have hoped for.
