We started off near Hebbal flyover, took a deviation to Yelahanka New Town, then to Dabbaspet and from there it was pretty much following the road, slowing down to ask the villagers to verify if we were on the right track. While coming back, we took the NICE road and it was chock-a-block truck traffic. The Dabbaspet road is good in patches, so can't ride more than 60kmph easily. However in some good stretches, we hit 100kmph with ease.

Hey Tijo, long time man, do join us next week for a ride. Keep an eye on this thread for details.

I bought the SparX S-07 Hornet Special Edition model. Cost me around 8.5k @ Orion Yamaha.

                • @hey Adi,

I asked for the Sparx helmet in JC road ( the only distributor of Sparx Helmet other than Orion (thats what the distributor told ) .. Don't know the Shop name exactly.

He told he will give me for 8K..(probably a bit less also if nicely bargained)..

                  • Rode to Madikeri yesterday. Started at 7am from home, got back home slightly before 7pm in the evening. Did 550 Kms in all.

Feasted on momos in Bylakuppe and gorged on Pandi Curry & Pandi Chops in Madikeri.

Lovely weather in that area if anyone is planning on riding around there.

Might write a short thread, but that would take time. Here's a pic from yesterday.

SparX helmets are available for 7k onwards at Orion. The special edition ones cost 8.5k and come with 2 visor's, one smoked and one clear visor, a pair of eyebrow vents and some decals. I got a discount of 300 bucks on the lid at Orion.

That for sure is a feast for eyes!!

Is this the mountain region which you have to go through towards the last leg of the route to Coorg??
The roads've been re-constructed and are pretty wide now. How was the weather there??

Any idea how much does a visor cost individually? Planning on picking up a S-07 myself sometime soon.

Yes, this is the 'ghats' if I may call it that after Kushalnagar. The roads have been recently redone. It was raining almost continuously after Kushalnagar.

Beta, whats the state of your thread? Any plans on updating it?

No idea bro. I guess it costs 700 bucks or so. You can get it for lesser at JC road.

                              From which way you went?
While going i went through a route that was pretty rough for almost 30-40km (you even get some thermal plant on the way via this route) and on the way backtook the by-pass at mysore and with that the only bad patch remaining on the route was also skipped!!

Yup the thread will be up completely by this weekend!
The write up is all complete (was long back) and the only task left is of uploading the pics on a sharing site to get the links as the max pics that can be put here is only 10-12 and that too all would come up towards the end of the post!!

Oh you took the shortcut after Srirangapatna that connects SH17 to SH88. Its passes thru that Thermal power plant and the route to KRS Dam. This route is shorter by about 30 kms. Its broken alright, but it saves time. As the ring road around Mysore tends to get a bit packed with traffic around evening. I always take this route, only recently a board saying 'Coorg' has come up there.
