This sounds like a good idea! Been there once. The road taken was beside the Rajarajeshwari dental college. Wiki maps shows a better road which can be taken directly to the dam. So, no off roading neededOriginally posted by nand15 View Post

no matter which road we take till ISRO the roads are good after that its gets worse and when we are nearing to the dam..its total offroading
instead how about we go to gaganachukki and barachukki its 125 KM from banglore and has the best roads not a single offroads..
its a nice place for photogarphy and some awesome waterfalls to viewLast edited by TwistedSouL; 07-16-2010, 12:12 AM.sigpic

u should make it in next month, becoz in this month we cant see the most beautiful of that waterfall.
i came there last week. 150 km ( via Karnakapura - Muthati - Chukki Twins -Shivanasamudra ) the road is not good around Muthati but u can see many sightseeing on the way )
130 km ( via Karnakapura - Shivanasamudra highway ) the road so bad in Karnakapura town ( 2-3 kms )
but it not intersting . becoz it is highway.
some pics :

I'm fine wherever as long as I dont have to ride on very bad roads or park the bike somewhere and walk away.
So with only 2 days to go for the ride, lets freeze on the destination at the earliest.
The weather turns gloomy only on the weekends
and i am hoping it doesnt rain on sunday.
Lets plan to leave by 5.30 am latest and return time can be decided by the group. I am fine with returning late afternoon or by noon as well.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

ok , we got two destinations as of now , chukki twins and manchanabele dam , lookin at eric's pics , and by personal experience , i think what he says is right ! , i went there last august and it was fantastic , the little deviation we take after maddur is rwhere the roads go bad for a bit , while riding through the villages , it is about 130km each way ... as for the other one , manchanabele dam , this one is quite close about 30-40 km , the roads great except for the last 8km after the ISRO ... and hey , we can take our bikes upto the water edge ... no need to leave it out of our sight ... with a lil off-roading .after that maybe we can head to maddur for breakfast and back ...
so here's what we can do , put the destinations to a vote ...
,
MANCHANABELE DAM
1. nand15 -FZ16
CHUKKI TWINS
so everybody , lets vote !!! , I already did
... if any other destination is to be added - quote , add and vote ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

I'd love to but recovering from flu. So if its gonna be a quick short ride like to the airport and back or to one of the CCD's on mysore road (not more than 2 hrs) then count me in. We can leave by 10pm and be back by midnight.Originally posted by tulinisarg View PostWho is free tonight ? well... I am

I have important things to attend to in the morning tomorrow, so cant afford to sleep in the day. And if i dont get my sleep, i'm cranky and irritated which I dont want to be.

Edit - Can we please freeze on the location for the Sunday morning ride? Latest by today evening please.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
