Hmm.. Still doesnt make sense.. u still booked only 2 weeks ago and ppl who hav booked 4 months back are still waiting. Considering there is only one place where a 'request' gets 'processed' (one factory... am I right? ), how did ur request get to the start of the line that quick

You lucky !@#!@ !!!!

a few day after booking the bike , called the showroom guys and asked them for the bike soon since i had sold my old bike and the reply i got was " Sir,once you get your cash ready give us a call and we will try to the best for you " . two days later at evening called them and told that the cash is ready they told they will try to arrange and let me know.
Then next day morning i got a call that the bike is ready and they asked me to come a pay . - this is how my request happened

Dint go to the factory for request
Cons:
 • The mileage is difficult to calculate with the light blinking on cornering, left hand U turns, braking, bumpy roads and parking on side stand. I am not sure on the number posted above for mileage as the light went out just when i was to re-fuel (best would be tank it up, note the number of kms run and tank it up again for correct figures).
 • There is a slight tappet noise at lower RPM (say till about 2000 rpm) then vanishes (Answer from RE: It is due to the auto-decompressor and will vanish soon).
The bike otherwise is very good to ride, smooth, hassle free and very very comfortable. Right now contemplating on whether I should change to the upswept exhaust or wait for a few more kms on the odo .

Cheers,
Deepak.
im new to this forum but have to say im very impressed with the enthusiasm and knowledge i see being shared here.
Im a proud!! owner of classic 500 and have done 1000k on it till now.
absolutely concur that its a great bike and packs a punch
recently started the problem of misfiring in second gear when revving down cleaned the spark plug persisted ...so changed the plug. problem vansihed for two days, took the bike out for a day trip problem came back.
now it misfires occasionally in second gear. not that im bothered abt occasional misfires. whats nagging me is that i keep goin on tours and i stay in sikkim where tech support on RE is zero so if i get busted while at nathula or north sikkim i shudnt be kicking my behind that it comes from the misfiring engine and i did not catch it when i could.
guys i really would appreciate your help and advise. Im an orthopedic surgeon so my knowledge abt bikes is zilch.
thanks a ton
p.s. also would appreciate if anyone cud guide me if iridium plugs are an option and available for C5

The onroad price is 1.54L + 3K (bend silencer). I ve put iridium plugs and free flow airfilter(imported, did this to reduce the pop on deceleration). It cost 4K so total 1.61K.

HI guys i am new to Xbhp, just need some advice of fellow bulleteers . got booked myself a classic 350 Oct 18th and got a waiting period of 10 mts from the Royal Enfield brand store Chennai, but my friend just booked on Nov 10 Classic 350 from a dealer and got a waiting period of 6 mts. I was shocked to hear this information about the waiting period . guys i need advice on whether to cancel the booking from the brand store and to go to dealer or to stick to the brand store itself

Hi Mechanist. I am also from chennai , booked a RE C500. whether its Brand store or dealer the bike is all the same. Just give a call to all the branch and ask about the delivery time . choose the least 1 and book your bike . If you are comfortable to loose 200rs from your booking amount go ahead and book the bike from the other dealer.
I booked the vehicle from a dealer and was told a waiting time of 2 months against the 10 months waiting from the brand showroom. and if your are lucky you can get the bike before the waiting period.

That's great. I booked mine on September 1st and told that I will be getting it around Feb/March. I will call up the Jayanagar branch manager and check whether there has been some improvements in delivery time.
