Hi people ,
I was tempted to start a thread "p180 vs p200" . Now - 1)Is Bajaj still sells pulsar 180 dts-i models? I asked because bajaj dealer said it is not available some 2 months back. 2) what is the advantages and disadvantages of Pulsar 180 vs Pulsar 200 ? I heard both give almost the same mileage.still many prefers p180 ?what is the reason? spare availability?or p200 -difficult to maintain? first word from many mechanics is that- current lott of p200's are unreliable - get a p180 instead I want some info regarding this. also ,please mention the big differences in latest version of P180 and p200. Thanks.

I ride the Super P180 cl 2002 June model, done about 32,000 kms. I'm using K & N air filter, fitted with P 200 Bore & Piston, 120/80 R16 MRF rubber. The paint is the original Cherry Red shade. Last but not the least it has 100/90 lighting. Planning to get it back to 18" wheels, there is a slight problem in the engine, there is a little vibration, when I rev it a little harder. I think it is due to the balancer shaft problem, it will be sorted out shortly & then I expect it to FLY.

pulsar 200 is marginally more powerful and has less mileage
180 gives around 40kmpl and 200 gives around 30 spares obviously are cheaper for 180 200 is a little hard to flick in city traffic though it has good low end power as for me i went for the 180 as 200's were being called back for front fork problem and 220 wasnt launched so i stayed on the safer side

Even my ZMA is giving me a mileage of around 38 - 40....!! ![]() The 200 only lacks a bit in the Top end but it has a superb low end and mid range(which is pretty much sufficient for normal city riding)..!! |
