True. The front would feel hopelessly light under a hard launch on a stock bike itself. It used to be a task for me to keep those 20odd horses in check under a hard launch. I used to shed all my weight front to get a launch. Later did the first swing arm mod (back in 2003 when none had tried such stuffs) to a longer one, stiffer suspension etc etc.
Missing my Fiero. Just waiting to clear some work and then start the rebuild on my Fiero 200.

Friends,
I have a Nov 2002 Fiero & clocked almost 88k kms.I have done engine work like new valves, piston, piston rings, block.I have also changed the stock headlamp with a FX headlamp to get more brighter output.Ohh yes before I forget,I have also installed a 5amp battery to take the load of an aux lamp.Rest everything is kept stock.Off lately I have noticed that the bike does not pull up properly meaning there is loss of power. Can you please suggest what could be the reason behind this.
Also can I upgrade my current stock CDI to that of an apache. If yes will it be a direct fit or do i need to modify something.

Seeking your advice.

Thanking in advance

Vishal

Suzuki Fiero - My first motorcycle. Bought on 6th June 2000. Recently completed 1.24L km's during the 3rd visit to Ladakh, thanks to 4 other bikes the running has come down on this one.

A small article I wrote about the bike (changes made to it included), in 2006.

@All: Has anyone installed a 12V, 2.5A sealed maintenance free battery onto their Fieros?

Also, what would be the tasks involved in getting the kick start changed to button start?
I know that it needs a battery of 5 amps, next wiring change, installing starter motor, what else?
What would be the total cost of all this including battery change?

How is the bike performing after 1.24L km's?

Cosmetic per se, the bike has taken some beating, specially after having to be shipped via courier 6 times till now. On road performance is good, not as good as new but still eager for another Ladakh trip.

Any particular reason for the 9Amp battery? I too am planning for a bigger battery, coz the RTR ignition and CDI sucks all the battery power.
