When he changed lane and twisted his throttle, i knew that he would surpass me so completed my throttle and slowly he started to be behind me and at one point of time i didn't see him in the RVM. So i was waiting for him in the second tollgate (from krishnagiri to chennai). He arrived and claimed he was constantly touching 115kmph still couldn't keep up with me and was eager to know what speed i was riding. When i said, my needle never passed 110 barrier, he was suprised .....So do i .

So i strongly believe that in either ways, this speedo reading is not reliable, but for book value mine still remains @ 110 .
I must say, we have similar mentalities while riding. I usually keep myself between 60-80 kmph. But, I was trying out this options. I could reach 92 kmph(approximately) on 4th gear and thereby, I could achieve that speed.

Hi Guys ,

Off late Im having problems with my kick start .

The bike is not starting . The kick start doesnt go all the way , is very tough and Im getting some whirrring sound whenver I try to kick start.
It feels as if the kick start gear is touching some this thus restricting the movement.

Any Ideas/Suggestions will be welcome .

Hope you are doing it right, just want to make sure....when you say you kick start, do you just hit the kicker (as we do for non RE bikes) ??? Press the kicker down to the full extent and it will feel very hard sometimes, but repeat it several times and once you have a smooth flow of the kicker, just hit the kick and the bike will start without any issue.

Earlier, I have faced some problems with my bike getting off with a weird sound (a cranking noise ) when i tried to kick start, but it vanished when i adjusted my idling screw

Ofcourse I will share my experience. If you read my old threads you will know my experience with my bull was bitter sweet.

I researched for 1 whole year to understand this is not going to be a high quality Japanese model where everything is going to be perfect.

I had my issues from day 1. Carburetor float got stuck and I lost fuel worth 400 Rs from the over drain pipe. Although I didn't sue Royal Enfield, they fixed that issue for me on spot.

I also had starting problem, where when I clicked the start button, I heard a tick tick sound but engine starter motor never worked. I had to kick start. Both issues have been rectified on spot and till today I have been running fine. I can only thank myself because I calibrated my patience level enough preparing for these sort of stuff by reading others experience.

I cannot give you a long term report, however after 2 months and 3000 kilometers, my bull has not let me down. Its powerful, low end torque is a boon, and 5th gear is a super cruiser.

I stick with the running period specifics. Few worse things are the warranty - 1 year or 10000 kilometers tells you the confidence level of how much of a quality the product is.

The fuel tank cap could have been a much better quality. Due to the engine heat, fuel evaporates at a much higher rate through the fuel cap which is disappointing. Water can seep through the fuel cap easily. After rain, just open the fuel cap and look under, you will see droplets of water. This can cause problems later.

The fuel caps I had on the unicorn was excellent quality, the only bike i can compare with. There is no chance for water seep through or fuel evaporation due to the design. This is my take. I am in the process of finding a better fuel cap.

35 W head lamps is a waste. Get HID or fix 55W better halogens. All switches on the bike are high quality, better than the Honda's. I was impressed.

The riding experience is for you to ride and know. So I guess this may help you a little.
i've done about 3k km on my bull and experiencing the same problem with the fuel cap and headlamp. wanted to know what you did abt it... also planning to go for an HID. Can i go ahead and replace it or does it need any mods?

Guys i have some queries regarding my bull ,
1) The Kicker tends to hit back with some sort of sound(sometimes)- I follow the same method as said by @biker_bala
2) mileage - It used to give 38 in city now from a couple of months it gives only 28-29 I get my bike serviced frequently when i mention the mileage has been dropped the svc guys say that they have tuned and yes the mileage increases upto 35 but only for around 250kms or so. I use Shell normal . I calculate mileage using reserve to reserve method.
3) My thump changes( i use a goldenstar by sans inc) morning or sometimes in the evening . It strong beat changes to a small beat .

Suggest me a good polish i use waxpol but it not so good. The water marks tends to stay even after i use the polish. Suggest a good polish which is easy to use . I remember i had used a polish which was quiet thick and it took a lot of energy to rub it off.

Regard ,
jayanth

It could be that the svc folks arent paying any attention to ur bull,,, Do you give your bike to the RE service center? Most of the re svc do a shoddy job.. try giving it to a good mechanic.
The low mileage and less thump could be because of wrongly tuned carb. Take it to a good bull mech and ask him to set it on a lean setting...
As far as the wax pol is concerned even i used to work like an ass polishing..
Try turtle wax. Its pretty easy to apply and buff. The shine stays longer too. I also tried liquid polish for a while but reverted back to turtle. I baught it for 260 bucks.. had a heartburn when i found this the next day...

Question Query regarding waiting period

hi all,
at last i booked my dream bike TBTS in last december at RE store in erragadda, hyderabad.
They gave me a waiting period of 6 months and i'm expecting my delivery by this june. But off late i have been hearing a lot about RE stores delaying the delivery further more than the mentioned time. So TBTS owners, especially from hyderabad... can u please tell me what was ur waiting period and whether u got ur bike within the period or got delayed.
Thanks

Try Kerosine or Diesel.

2. Chain Lube

People may recommend using SAE90 gear oil, but if you're looking for spray type lube's TVS Chain Lube's the best and VFM option.

3. Engine oil - (Confused whether to use synthetic or normal one)

Mineral all the way. Synthetic oils have a tendency to blow gaskets when the engine's revved hard.
