Hi Bruns, I was quoted as 6-8 months while booking back in April, but was given in 3 months. Not sure how RE's supply chain works, dealer quoted RE was sending 100 bikes per month earlier and now they have started sending close to 200-250, so the early delivery.Originally posted by bruns View Post

Rear View Mirror on TBTS
Hi Thunderbird owners, has anybody changed the mirrors on their bird, the stock mirrors are of little use and I have to keep turning my head to check if someone behind while changing lanes. What alternatives do we have if one needs to change it to a rectangular one as on Bajaj Avenger? Does Avenger mirror fits on to TBTS directly?

I have fitted avenger mirrors and they fit directly no issues with that. Will post some photos as soon as it comes from servicing.Originally posted by Anand_pk View PostHi Thunderbird owners, has anybody changed the mirrors on their bird, the stock mirrors are of little use and I have to keep turning my head to check if someone behind while changing lanes. Hi Guys, after keeping my bike at service center for 24 hrs. here is my report in bold.Originally posted by rahul2880 View PostI have given my bike today for servicing and have given list of things to check. The service center is keeping my bike for a day or two riding and testing and will clear out all the problem. The problems i have given to them are,
1. The scrapping noise from engine
2. Ride is not smooth
3. Everyday i have to start my bike with choke pulled have to keep her for two minutes to heat up and if i am lucky after turning off the choke the bike stays in idle state i.e. at 1000 rpm and if i am not lucky the engine dies out after turning off the choke again the cycle continues.
4. The kick is too hard after kicking 8 to 10 times the engine comes to life.
5. Head light button is not fuctioning properly.
6. Due to rains i think it has some water in tank while riding there is misfiring.
Will give detail report after servicing. Will try to post video with audio if the issue is not resolved after servicing.
1. The scrapping noise from engine - gone no noise only slight noise of tappet that tic-tic sound if listened carefully
2. Ride is not smooth - slightly made the chain loose and its smooth now
3. Everyday i have to start my bike with choke pulled have to keep her for two minutes to heat up and if i am lucky after turning off the choke the bike stays in idle state i.e. at 1000 rpm and if i am not lucky the engine dies out after turning off the choke again the cycle continues. - in one or two kick the bike starts and remains idle the engine does not dies
4. The kick is too hard after kicking 8 to 10 times the engine comes to life. - kick is not hard anymore and in one or two kick requires to start the bike
5. Head light parking light button is not fuctioning properly. - the guy opened the switch and sprayed some zorrik 88 and it is working perfectly now
6. Due to rains i think it has some water in tank while riding there is misfiring. - drained the tank and removed all traces of water no misfiring now
Some extra information got from service center mechanic
1. In rains if electrical switches are not working properly the spray some zorrik 88 in it and will work fine.
2. Oil chain every week and use gear oil to oil the chain. The oil used should be thick oil.
3. If you don't want that black or brown antirust on your bike and prevent it from rusting then apply coconut oil to all the nuts,bolts and steel and your bike will remain nice and shiny in rains

@rahul2880
How does the mirrors perform on the highway, i mean at high speeds can you see the vehicles clearly @90km/hr?
@I_Chennai
I have changed mine to goldenstar it has decent thump. Their are many silencers you can chose from (goldie,short bottle,golden star).There ain't no devil, ther'e just God when he's drunk.

Thats cool. How does it look? If you dont mind, Could you please upload a pic?
What silencers do you suggest? a decent thump is enough. I'm more concerned about the looks.
Thank you!

Well i think goldenstar is very good. Haven't tried other silences so cant comment. Here's the image of the silencer. BTW the goldenstar is 3-4 inches short than the stock silencer

Guys i had been to SVC today for a general check up it seems that their is leakage in the front fork & the warranty does not apply for that is that true? He said the overall cost would be around 600rs....There ain't no devil, ther'e just God when he's drunk.

Imbalance in TBTS
Hi, I am using TBTS since last 1 year. Had an accident because of which i had to change my chassis. But after changing it I have lost the confirm of driving it. My rear tyre starts slidind. Sliding as in not it actually starts moving the back but then i get the feeling and it mandates me slow down the bike. Initially i thought it is because of air pressure so i had to completely stop it and check it. But later i found it is presure issue.
I did the following things -
1. Checking the wheel alignment.
2. Handle T checking. thought may be T is bent. This was adviced to my by one mechanic in mumbai.
3. Checking the nut position at rear tyre from both sides. There was position difference. That also i got fixed.
Still whenever I am riding above 50, i dont feel the same riding comfirt which i used to feel before the accident.
Can any one advice on what else needs to be done?
