  • Gear Shift Indicator for TBTS

    Hi All

Guys am really fed up with all the false neutrals between gears. Moreover with a torquey engine like this I forget which gear I'm in and start riding uphills or flyovers in top gear. Then I found this on Ebay-

This is a simple hall effect sensor based system which is not dependent upon ignition coil or speedo. Just paste the sensors to the left side clutch housing slight offset in upward and downward direction of the shift lever and the magnet to the shift lever with araldite and voila ! your own Gear indicator. Only thing which I think is troublesome is connecting the white wire to the neutral light wire. Can somebody please help me with finding the neutral wire on the TBTS ? Is it color coded white or is it a bit more tricky ??????

Well, I have the same problem with my 1 month old Thunderbird. When I try to shift the gears it wont change and I have to do it again, Sometimes I don't know which gears I'm in. Believe I should be used to it after sometime.

Right now my only problem is the gear is not shifting properly sometimes and I have to accelerate and shift the gear again.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here.

      Experts Please educate me!!

Well I personally have never felt the gears too hard, just theres a need to push a little longer. It should go away after running in period. But if you say you have to change gears after accelerating, there might be a problem with the gear selector. Take your bull to the service centre for their opinion.

I saw the new design crash guard on the classic and it suits the classic so well. The guy in the showroom said it maynot go well with the TB however its again owner's personal choice. He did not have stock of diamond guard but that was a month ago. You can maybe give it a shot again and check out varieites of CGuards they have.

              Hope this helps.
Hi, I am willing to sell my Crash Guard which is on a TBTS. It is a new model but i do not like it. I bought it on 29-Apr-2011 and i have the bill. I am willing to go with the regular one but it was not available. It is as good as new and i am ready to negotiate on the cost. You can reach me on [email protected]; [email protected]

              • Hi All

I have recently bought a TBTS (2nd hand). I am really in need to get the service manual / owner manual as I am not able to find it anywhere.

Can anybody please provide that so that I would be able to do the basic things myself ?

                Thanks,
                Saurabh

                            • Guys I have bought a Osram Nightbreaker bulb to replace my TBTS headlamp. But my first free service is due tomorrow. So should I go ahead and install the bulb or wait till the service is over ? Does fitting a 60 W bulb to the TBTS void it's warranty ??
