Well after close to 36 hours I got my bird back from service. I was fortunate to find the supervisor who took in-charge was from Kerala. I had a chance to speak to him in my local language and explain to him crisp clear what I needed.

Washing was a waste, its been raining here in Hyderabad since last night heavily and my bird is full of dirt and mud. After Initial inspection I find the rear wheel alignment much better. Although its not perfect, I would say negligible. I'm going to ride this for a while and test at different speeds and curves.

Did not need to replace clutch cable, they lubricated it. However I bought a spare cable, which I will need for sure for my future rides to Kerala and Leh, God will

When I took the bull out of the service center I was just blown away. The engine has become so butter smooth, much more silent and I have no idea where all that power just came from.

I told my pillion (wife) this thing zooms like a bullet, and she said "it is a bullet, dumb"

Well, im impressed. I just enjoy riding this bullet more and more every single day, brings so much excitement in me, its this machine, a master piece, a testimony of decades, its really a legend.

And all those people who told me, only old bulls are real bulls, new ones are waste. All those who said a Thunderbird is not a bull, please, you dont know what you are talking about.

I have ridden my Honda Unicorn for close to 4 years, I know exactly what a Japanese riding experience is. A Bullet (any model), is something else. You got to own one to speak about it.

Rest is there for you to see. A legend speaks for itself, you don't need judges.

    God bless and ride safe.
Good to hear that from a fellow rider! I own a TBTS and in no way I compare that with a previous generation RE bikes. Every bike has its own pros and cons. I love riding it and got a lovely mech who takes care of her. Keep crunchin miles Bro!

    Ride Safe, Cheers

With the current waiting period and the new factory years from reality, I dont know what they are planning to do with the new models

Breakdowns??? hardly 2 months old! no ways!

RE is expecting to display three models for all its fans.
      500 CC Electra,
500 CC TBTS [with rear disc]

Rest the bike is super smooth and experiencing nirvana while riding. Keep Thumping.
        Hello Thumpers!

Greetings from a fellow x-bhpian. Before I post my first post a Quick Intro - Am BikerB0y [fondly called by friends] I own a RE TBTS, pretty stock other than a Single Core open Silencer and an RD 350 Handlebar with a RX-100 RVM's. Bike is all I love in the world and crunching miles is a cake walk for us. Been riding her for close to a year and conquered most of the places hilly terrain, slush, mud, even took her to the race track at Chennai [the one off at the Poonamalle high road opposite to Hyundai Plant]. So far I was just a silent reader and now knowing better about my bike I think I can share my views and help fellow x-bhpians with their new rides.

Observe the noise first [I know it is pretty tough from the rider stance, move back to the pillion and have some one to ride your bike and first understand the sound of it.] This may be little strange but most of the RE problem is taken care with good observation. My ride had a heavy rattling noise during my first trip to Hogenakkal. All the fellow riders tried to narrow down the problem but it was finally me who found that the problem is with the tank bolt. That was the first time I filled my tank full and the bike could not take such weight all of a sudden and started making weird noises. So feel the problem first.

I feel the third screw on the number plate [the one which hold the number plate and the reflector] should create such scrapping noise. Check the screws first, ensure there is a good clearance between the tire and the screw tip. Have a pillion sit and examine the bike. Let me know what is the result is.

        Ride Safe!!!
        Cheers,

Thanks, will definately check tomorrow, due to rains in Pune unable to use the beast that much.
Also how do you protect her from rust? I saw couple of areas which are prone to rust on my newly acquired bike. I have to check the petrol tank from inside if its fine from rust.
One more observation I have is, the ride is bit bumpy on potholes/off roading, need to check on the rear shock settings, will do it in first servicing.

my problem is different i can feel the scrapping sound under me while riding the bike without pillion and with pillion definately it is coming from engine.my wife says the sound is coming like from sugarcane machine. i have stick to not above 55 kmph before first service as per the manual. also the ride is like the bike wants to run but something is pulling her from not running.

Is it a tic-tic sound that the engine does? if yes its normal in UCE, its the hydraulic tappets that creates a lot of noise, otherwise, check someone else's TBTS if its any better than your's.

              • Whatever problems you have, get it rectified ASAP. Trust me when I say, they are going to do nothing other than change engine oil and oil filter and charge you for that during the services.

You have a problem? go head on and get it fixed while you are there. Before you know, the 1 year or 10k Kilometer warranty will be over and leave you with just headaches. Why listen to their BS when you paid for a product?

                Go fix it!

I get the parts [whichever is possible] cromed to clear the rust and for the rest the powder sold at the gas station [local make but it is effective on rust] should do. Regarding the petrol tank rust, maintain half tank petrol always and try full tank once in a while. The petrol will wash all the rust from inside and it prevents further damage. Rust is formed only if the inner side of the tank is unused. So fill fuel go for a trip as often as you can. Since it is a new bike not necessary to check the inner side of the tank. Shock settings should take care of bumpy ride as you said.

Am not sure about the RE Service at Mumbai, if they are unable to sort out the problem it is wise to take the bike to a bullet mechanic [ensure he is an expert in handling an UCE]. Also consider taking the bike to all the authorised RE Service [whicever is close by]. I know it is painfull still try doing it as you may find a good mechanic at some service centre.

Else try to share a video [with the sound-ofcoarse] and I can show it to my mechanic and check what he can do for you - Am not sure how this will work still lets try it out.

I usually say the symptom to my mechanic and he asks few questions to narrow down the bike's problem and finally he will tell me the exact issue. Then I take her to the Authorized RE Service centre and let them know what the problem is and they happily do the needfull [as the bike was under warranty].

Note: Since it is a new bike I would suggest you only to take advice from the local bullet mechanic.

Thanks, I have applied WD40, hope it is effective as I dont know from where to procure the powder you are mentioning. I checked the tank, its painted (primer, i suppose) from inside and have checked with dealer that all the bikes come with tank painted from inside to prevent it from rust (have checked couple of new bikes at the showroom).

I have given my bike today for servicing and have given list of things to check. The service center is keeping my bike for a day or two riding and testing and will clear out all the problem. The problems i have given to them are,

                          1. The scrapping noise from engine
                          2. Ride is not smooth
                          3. Everyday i have to start my bike with choke pulled have to keep her for two minutes to heat up and if i am lucky after turning off the choke the bike stays in idle state i.e. at 1000 rpm and if i am not lucky the engine dies out after turning off the choke again the cycle continues.
                          4. The kick is too hard after kicking 8 to 10 times the engine comes to life.
                          5. Head light button is not fuctioning properly.
                          6. Due to rains i think it has some water in tank while riding there is misfiring.

Will give detail report after servicing. Will try to post video with audio if the issue is not resolved after servicing.

Guys I am in mumbai I had been to service station today and noticed none of the bikes had that brown or black anti-rust. The bikes were all shiny and no trace of rust. Dunno how they manage to do that. Removing anti-rust after rains is pain in rear.

I am facing the same, but the kick is not hard in my case and the bike comes to life in 1 or 2 kicks but it should idle after turning off the choke which I will report in my first service as well, Please let me know once your bike is back. Once the bike heats up properly no issues in starting again though.
