Ahh...had been waiting for such a thread for too long.

I own a December 2005 CBZ Star, 51k km on the odo. Don't know if it can be called the "Classic", but yeah, the problems mentioned are pretty much the same. And did you not mention the pathetic headlight? Gosh, it gives me creeps driving on the NH at night and I have survived quite a few potholes yesterday itself. The shoddy plastics are nothing to talk about; I've literally cracked every plastic part that is there on the bike. Got it fiber welded though and saste choote.

Anyhow, this is the first bike I owned, even though its second-hand. I just couldn't gulp a Pulsar(so utterly common) and the Xtreme disappointed me severely, since I was waiting for its launch before I got this bike. Looks were pathetic, and the pickup was not so good.

For the vibes in engine and footpeg, try getting the camshaft, rocker arms and chain guide changed. Cost me 1400 and the bike seems less like a tractor. Another thing that matters is engine mounting rubbers, mine were not replaced tough. For a more hold-able top end for touring, a ZMA pushrod will do wonders(so says Praveen, who did it on his CBZ).

I am frequently attracted to the new-gen bikes, like the ZMA for touring capability, the RTR for the feature-rich speedo and of course, the R15 for the look-different appeal. But what I know for sure is this baby is gonna last me another few years before I can save up for a 250 cc+ import, and a legal one too.

Yeah that headlight sux to the core.. I m runing on 35w Halogen which doesnt help runing on a very good highway like Blr-Mysr

Ahh.. thats what I have wanted always. an xtremes engine & mileage in CBZ Classic wuld kill most of the new gen 150cc bike sales..

Man this one I will have to check.. any idea of how much this ZMAs push rod costs ? I feel dangerous wobbling past 100kmph on my bike.. Altough my bike feels like can gain more speed this wobbling makes me slow down damn.. If this zmas push rod can help me with stability in high speeds that would be wonderful on long rides..

Me too.. another couple of years.. I want to see those magic 00000 numbers again on my bike..

ZMA's pushrod won't help with stability. It helps you maintain the speed of 100 at a lower rpm. For stability issues, check these things:
- Rear tyre fitting is even or not (Check the tyre-rim contact is even throught the tyre circumference)
- Rim needs to be trued or taalled (Raise on main stand and spin the tyre. Observe from the front/rear if there's a noticeable wobbling. Repeat for both tyres. Taalling costs 80 bucks here, done manually)
- Swingarm bush worn out (Raise on main stand, ask someone to told the bike still and try moving the rear tyre left-right. It it moves a little, the bush is worn. Get it lathed or replaced)

My bike wobbles at low speeds, mostly sub-10 kmph. Traffic handling is a dampener thus.

PS: I've got a copy of the CBZ workshop manual. Give me a PM if you would like a copy.

All the above tested & tried but still I have some wobbling prblm which mech said is due to Button tyre @ front

Yeah this needs to be checked.. Bloddy hell everytime I ask ma mech to check this he is lazy cos he knows this aint a easy job & he has to work his ass off to check the swing arm.. M not gona leave him wil get it checked soon

I will PM you with my Mail ID bro. pls send it

One more thng to clarify. is Uni's spark plug cap can be fitted on our bike.. I always face problm with water going inside the cap as it is very short so wana try Unis which is long enough & fits tightly.

Are Bhai, just plonk ZMA front shockers spring in CBZ and all your wobbling and uncertain front end problem will be gone for ever. You will be able to save the cost of broken front shockers' seal. With those springs in place, I have been able to go over hell deep potholes at high speeds without any problem. This modification helped me avoid at least ten episodes of broken seals over the last 3+ years. With Zapper Y 3.00X 18" at front, the bike is steady even at speeds near 120 kmph true.

Hmm dis sounds better.. pls let us know how much does it cost ?? I guess it will be somewhere around 400-500 bucks.. if it can help stability in high speeds den its a worth a change..

I had got it done around 3+ years ago. Had cost me 600 bucks including labour then. The springs are more stout but less in length. A very good and cheap mod. The bike will become much mature, and won't even dive too much even under hard braking.

Also, Generally try to lighten your rims, etc. I am using splendor rims front and back. The bike responds well.

I own up a 2000 model Cbz..Done approx 123500.Just few days ago i installed New Cylinder kit in that(In January),Before that piston was changed 2times.Fitted with Zma Alloys,Zma Disc,ZMA's Chain Set,ZMA's Front Shockers after installing them them front suspension is front smooth, classic pulsar Headlight,Blue flame Exhaust..This year I gone to Keylong on that...Done so many roadtrips on that..I love this Bike..Earlier It was fiited with K&n and ngk spark plug..But right now K&N is removed and i installed up ZMA's Air Filter,NGK is still there..Still it clocks 125km/hr on the speedo and its quite accurate because at the same speed a R15 was with me so i confirmed with him..His and my Speedo was showing up the Same.I love my bike..In between i installed up ZmA's engine too but its hard to control the bike on high speed..

++1. The speedos of CBZ and Pulsars UPG I were damn accurate. Just 1-2 kmph here and there.

Also, instead of changing the whole front set up from ZMA, if you have changed just the springs of front shockers, it would have done the same thing. Any way, great mods.

And if it can do 125 kmph, why to buy ZMA?
