David Yurman, designer jeweller, is selling a handmade motorcycle made out of forged carbon fiber for $48,000 which is around INR 32.25 lakh. He is releasing it for sale along with his new men’s Jewellery collection.
The bike is a MV Agusta Brutale and it’s called the David Yurman Forged Carbon. The one of a kind bike is built by the famous custom motorcycle builder Walt Siegl, who hand makes the bikes in his studio in New Hampshire.
The bike builder has used the forged carbon for the front fender, rear hugger, triple tree, and brackets. For fairing and gas tank, he has used Kevlar. The total weight of the bike is only 138 kgs and it is equipped with a liquid-cooled 800 cc, 3-cyclinder DOHC engine churning out 162 Bhp. The bike can hit a top speed of 289km/h.
David’s son, Evan Yurman said – “There’s no profit involved in this at all, whatsoever. Walt is a great bike modifier and sculptor, and I was inspired to call him up and collaborate.”
“If you just take forged carbon and put it in jewellery that is only a one-way conversation. But if you put it in the form of a motorcycle, something you can use, it becomes a dialogue. So we got to utilize it in a different way that may be considered esoteric to some, but for the people who utilize it as a means to their industry, like Walt, we give them the opportunity to think way outside the box.”
Evan further added – The $48,000 (INR 32.25 lakh) is the bike for cost. The company is not making any money off of the bikes. If they chose to make a profit the bikes cost would be closer to $100,000 (INR 67.19 lakh) to $200,000 (INR 1.34 Crores)
