CEAT Ladakh Enduro Park | Acclimatising in Leh, the Biker Way!

September 5th, 2026 xBhp Features, Top Story comments

Usually, when you fly into Leh, the first two days are all about one thing: acclimatisation! You rest. You hydrate. You take it easy. You give your body time to understand the altitude before heading out on the Leh-Ladakh roads. But what if you are a biker like us?

Well, my acclimatisation in Leh turned out to be anything but normal. Instead of spending two quiet days waiting for my body to adjust, I found myself riding into Asia’s first high-altitude enduro park, CEAT Ladakh Enduro Park… at the height of 11,883 feet. And believe me, this was not just an off-road training session. It felt like stepping into a temple built by a biker, for bikers.

There is something special about riding in Ladakh. The mountains test you, the altitude humbles you, and every kilometre teaches you something about yourself and your motorcycle. The idea behind Ladakh Enduro Park takes that experience one step further.

What impressed me most was the idea of creating a dedicated space with a view of the iconic Shanti Stupa, where riders can come to Leh, get introduced to challenging terrain, sharpen their riding skills, and prepare for the adventures ahead. And there is a very personal biker story behind it. Mr Lakshmi, CMO, CEAT Tyres, is a passionate biker himself. That passion inspired the idea of bringing an adventure and learning experience like this to such a high altitude.

The vision was simple but powerful: to create a place where bikers can become better riders, experience different terrains and perhaps make Ladakh Enduro Park a milestone at the beginning of their Leh-Ladakh Roadtrip. For someone who loves motorcycles, you can immediately understand the emotion behind that idea.

A Special Day at the Ladakh Enduro Park

Our visit became even more memorable because we were there on a very special occasion. CEAT Ladakh Enduro Park was recognised by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. Being there to witness and celebrate that achievement made the entire experience even more special.

But before the celebrations came the part we had really come for: riding! And this was proper off-road riding. We had professional trainers guiding us through the track, teaching us how to approach different obstacles and, more importantly, how to control and maintain grip… within ourselves and the motorcycle when the terrain starts getting serious.

Starting with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, we began our training on the Royal Enfield Himalayan, fitted with CEAT tyres. The first few laps were all about understanding the terrain and getting comfortable with the motorcycle. We worked on uphill and downhill sections, learning how to approach them correctly rather than simply trying to get through them.

At high altitude and on loose, uneven terrain, every little movement matters. Throttle control. Body position. Braking. Momentum. Things that may seem simple on a normal road suddenly become very important when you are climbing or descending a challenging off-road section. And that is exactly what made the experience so much fun; you weren’t just riding around a track. You were learning.

Level 1 & Level 2: Things Get Serious

Once we got comfortable with the basics, we moved on to the Level 1 and Level 2 sections. This is where the enduro character of the park really started showing. There were uphill and downhill obstacles, challenging sections and terrain that demanded proper technique rather than just confidence. For this part of the experience, we got on the Hero Xpulse 210, shod with CEAT Knobby tyres. And honestly, it felt like the right combination for the terrain.

The Xpulse 210 felt playful and capable, while the knobby tyres gave us the confidence to tackle the loose and uneven surfaces. The track pushed us to think about our lines, maintain momentum and understand how the motorcycle behaves when the surface beneath you isn’t predictable.

There were moments when it was challenging. There were plenty of moments when it was hilarious. And there were definitely moments when you simply wanted to go around and try the section again. That’s the beauty of off-road riding. You make a mistake, learn from it, and go again.

My Kind of Acclimatisation

By the end of the session, I realised something. Maybe this was the craziest way to acclimatise in Leh, but for a biker, it was also one of the most memorable. Instead of simply sitting around and waiting for the mountains to become familiar, I was experiencing them through the motorcycle.

Of course, high-altitude acclimatisation should always be taken seriously, and everyone’s body responds differently. But within the riding experience, being at Ladakh Enduro Park gave us an opportunity to understand the terrain, improve our technique and get mentally prepared for the roads and trails ahead. This was acclimatisation, the biker way.

More Than Just a Track

What stayed with me wasn’t just the obstacles, the motorcycles or the tyres. It was the emotion behind the place. Ladakh Enduro Park doesn’t feel like someone simply built an off-road track and put a name on it.

The whole concept feels rooted in the riding community, a place created because someone who loves motorcycles wanted other bikers to experience something different. A place where you can learn. A place where you can challenge yourself. A place where you can make mistakes safely and become a better rider. And perhaps, most importantly, a place that can become the starting point of a Leh-Ladakh motorcycle adventure.

Celebrating the Milestone

After all the riding, learning and getting covered in the dust of Ladakh, we came together to celebrate the recognition received by Ladakh Enduro Park from the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

The award ceremony brought everyone together: the riders, trainers, organisers and the people who made the entire experience possible. There was a lot of excitement, plenty of smiles and, of course, endless conversations about motorcycles and the day’s riding. For me, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

I had arrived in Leh expecting to begin my acclimatisation. Instead, I found myself riding an enduro track at high altitude, learning from professional trainers, trying different motorcycles and celebrating a milestone with fellow bikers.

Not exactly the usual Leh acclimatisation. But then again, why should a biker’s Ladakh story ever be usual?

Ride. Learn. Repeat. That, for me, is what CEAT Presents Ladakh Enduro Park represents.
