India’s leading tyre manufacturer JK Tyre launched the Smart Tyres early in the year 2020, which is a first-of-its-kind solution that integrates the Tyres with a valve fitted smart sensor to provide real-time information and alerts on your phone about tyre temperature and pressure. The slightest increase or decrease in tyre pressure or temperature which can be hazardous for riders is notified instantly and thus ensuring utmost safety of the rider.
The Smart Tyre technology allows for early detection of issues and deployment of timely preventive measures to avoid them and also deliver higher fuel efficiency up to 4-5% leading to a reduction in carbon emission. In addition, through this technology, the tyre life is enhanced thereby minimizing operational expenses.
To test this new technology in real-world conditions, we decided to install this system in the motorcycles of a few motorcycles riders across the country. These riders were chosen on the basis of their riding experience as well as their reputation in the motorcycling fraternity along and then they were sent on a ride and give us feedback on how the #SmartTyres made changed their riding experience!
What is #SmartTyre?
“I’ve been using it for a week now, and I love the way I get accurate and timely updates on the status of my tyres. Over-inflated tyres or under-inflated tyres- not a problem anymore. Coming back to the tyres, it’s been more than 3.5 years since I’ve been using button tyres on my Duke 200. After a good 45,000kms, it was time for a change. I wanted to try the Blaze series from JK Tyres and so, I went to the JK Tyres Showroom and procured both the tyres. Front: Blaze BF33 – 110/70 – 17 and Rear: Blaze RYDR BR 41 -140/70 – 17. I went through the TREEL product manual and was able to fix the sensor around my tyres with ease. I did a couple of kms before heading out for the ride and I am already in love with the better grip. After 3.5 years of riding on button tyres, I indeed felt a big difference. I felt more confident while releasing the throttle and similarly while applying brakes.”
You can buy the JK Smart Tyre at the comfort of your home from here or from your nearest JK Tyre store.
