Pierre Terblanche, the legendary motorcycle designer, has left Royal Enfield after working for nearly two years with the Indian bike maker. He was designated as the Director of Design at Royal Enfield and was based out of the company’s UK office.
As reported by Autocar, it is not yet clear why Terblanche had left the Chennai-based company. Even RE is tight-lipped about the situation for now. However, we believe that sooner we will get to know what Mr Terblanche is up to.
Pierre Terblanche has had a remarkable career and has worked with the likes of Massimo Tamburini earlier in his career. While he has designed the first generation of Multistrada and Hypermotard, his most notable work is considered to be the Ducati 999 Superbike – one of the most controversial motorcycle designs ever. But with each passing year, the Ducati 999 is becoming a highly sought after classic Superbike from yesteryears.
Other than Ducati, Pierre Terblanche has worked with the Piaggio Group and designed several concepts for Moto Guzzi that didn’t see production. He has also worked at MV Agusta and his latest venture was at Confederat Motorcycles.
