Triumph Bonneville Bobber Launched at Rs. 909,000

The Triumph Bonneville Bobber Launched at Rs 9,09,000/- Ex-Showroom Delhi in four colours.

Triumph launched the gorgeous Bonneville Bobber today in Delhi. The bike sticks to the minimalist tradition of Bobbers, which started off in America in the 1940s. Extreme attention has been paid to every little detail on the motorcycle to ensure that the bike is gorgeous. Though it belongs to the Bonneville family, it looks nothing like its siblings.

The Bobber has a nice stripped down look, with a low single seat, with the rear mono-shock concealed to give it a hard tail look. It looks the part of a hard tail, but promises to give the comfort of a rear suspension. The seat can be adjusted to the riders preference, moving it up and down and back and forwards. The bike has slash cut brushed stainless steel exhaust pipes which look gorgeous in its simplicity.

The same 1200 HT engine does duty on the Bobber, belting out 77 Ps @ 6100 rpm and 106 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The chassis and suspension has been built specifically for this bike with no parts shared with its siblings. On the now standard across the Triumph range, the bike gets ride-by-wire, torque assist clutch and switchable traction control, ABS and two rider modes. The bike also features a twin airbox setup with two filters.

The four colours the bike is available in are: Ironstone, Murello Red, Competition Green and Frozen Silver and Jet Black.

Good news for prospective owners is the 16000 km service interval, after the first service which is at 800 km. The bike also gets an engine immobiliser to help you keep your Bobber safe in public parking lots! The ignition key fits below the riders saddle, though the handle lock is still on the handle! The console shows: Gear Position Indicator, Odo, Trip Meters, Service Indicator, Range to Empty, Fuel Gauge, Average and Current Fuel Consumption, Clock and Traction Control settings. To add to the bobber look, the bike gets a 19 inch front wheel and a 16 inch rear wheel.

Though Triumph calls this a ‘genuine factory custom’, which is a misnomer, if its from a factory, then it cannot be a custom. But it does provide around 150 parts to further add individuality to the bike. For those who wouldn’t want to spend too much time choosing add-on parts, they have two ‘Inspiration Kits’. The ‘Old School’ Bobber and ‘Quarter Mile’ Bobber inspiration kits. This two kits provide a bunch of parts which can be slapped onto your stock Bobber to make it look different. Provided every owner doesn’t choose the same inspiration kit!

Mr Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. commented, “Our ambition was to deliver a genuine bobber – without compromise to the ride, comfort or rider control, to have it ride just like a Triumph should. The Triumph Bobber delivers a truly class defining riding dynamic, further strengthening our repertoire in India.”

“Triumph Motorcycles is the fastest growing luxury motorcycle brand in India.  With segment-leading technology, safety and rideability our motorcycles ensure a complete riding experience. Taking our obsession with creating THE perfect ride forward, Triumph has set a high benchmark for the luxury two-wheeler segment. With a hard-to-beat product lineup across 5 categories, collaborations with several motorsports events and training schools In India, our goal is not just to dominate the market but to upgrade the entire biking experience in India.”

Triumph India says, 19% growth in 500cc + in last financial year. One third of this growth has come from Triumph in India. New dealerships in Goa and Bhubaneshwar within the next 3 months. Triumph training academy for adventure bikes, first of its kind.
