We take Vintage of two eras with us in this minisode of #DriverVsRider. A 1967 Mercedes-Benz W110 230 and a 2016 Indian Motorcycle Chief Vintage. It doesn’t seem like 50 years separate them when they roll on the road together!
In this day of fancy gadgets and modern-day gimmickry, we take a step back in time to go visit a car from an era when things were both cool and classy. The Mercedes Benz W110 230 was just that, it looked the part, elegant yet fast. And we had the rider on the perfect motorcycle to complement the Mercedes, the Indian Chief Vintage.
The Mercedes is a throwback from the 60s and the W110 series of cars was first introduced in the mid-60s and was the German manufacturer’s midsize 4-cylinder car. But the variant we got was the inline 6-cylinder 2300cc one from 1967. Production for this model ended after a three year run in 1968. This was the first series of Mercedes cars that was crash tested extensively. Safety was added to the panache! It was a pleasure to see this beauty on four wheels rolling along the streets of Delhi in its full splendour along with the Chief Vintage which has incredible street presence of its own.
We are extremely thankful to Mr. Uday Bahadur for letting us drive & shoot his beloved posession!
