Bajaj Auto to make its entry level commuter motorcycle CT100 even more affordable by reducing its price below Rs 35,000. The decision is encouraged by the sales figures of Bajaj CT100 in 2015.
Bajaj is also working towards breaching the 100 km/litre fuel efficiency with its Platina bike this year. Bajaj Auto which had a market share of 23% in 2014 is eyeing 45% market share with these new offerings, and is expected to launch at least 4-5 products across different price points, right from the entry level to the premium end.
The offerings include the lower priced CT 100, the improved Platina, a new brand in the executive bike segment and might be a new premium motorcycle priced between 1-2 lakh.
Eric Vas, president for motorcycle business at Bajaj Auto said: “We are stretching the envelope at both end — commuter and premium — but our biggest focus is going to be on the new brand in the executive segment this year, which will give us incremental volumes.”
