Spero Mobility and Energy Solutions P Ltd., A crowdfunded start-up from Coimbatore has an environment friendly solution for daily commuting with the combination of pedaling cycle and battery which can charge the 40V Li-on battery 20-80% in 2-3 hours. Spero e-bike comes with a digital gear and can reach 0-25 kmph in 10 seconds. A single charge can run to 100 kms which is quite impressive.

It’s all started when Manikandan’s (MD of Milltex) wife was articulating her idea to make an easy daily commute with green technology. Corresponding to her idea, Manikandan says, “We have always been very environmentally conscious and inclined to sustainable development. I decided to come up with a solution that can help us in own commute” also “Another thing that always pinched me was that we (Indians) somehow always got the lower end of the bargain. When we started working on Spero, we were determined that it would be a no-compromise, world class product made for the Indian consumer”

The e-biking project started in early 2015 with few youngsters where the design includes both pedaling which moves you forward, converts kinetic energy into electric energy and saves it in the battery. Equipped with mobile charger, helmet holder, mobile holder and pressure indicator as well. “Spero connotes to Hope in Latin and it is a healthy, fun, green commute which we would love to see the nation embrace,” says Manikandan.

Milltex has a plan to come-up with unisex version e-bike in its experience centers soon and to make a presence in 130 cities in next 48 to 60 months.
