China-based motorcycle manufacturing company Motrac has come up with two new motorcycle design yet to be launched and have a plan to introduce in the European market. Currently, Motrac has a range of 125cc motorcycles and has revealed their 400cc and 500cc parallel twins engine. Motrac’s a naked sport bike MT-400 with a 399cc DOHC twin engine which produces 35bhp at 7600rpm and 33Nm at 5500rpm. Expected to be priced around £2900.
500cc parallel-twin adventure-style bike, the MG-500 comes with 76mm bore and 55.1mm stroke for a 491cc capacity engine which produces 47bhp and 32ft-lb at 8500rpm. The weight of a bike claimed at 197 kg dry. Both models will get euro 4 compliant engine to go for sale in Europe as well.
The design is so familiar, isn’t? It just reminded Ducati Multistrada which is not a comparable segment in terms of engine specification to these new bikes from Motrac but yes the body design and overall look seem lookalike. By looking at it, I was so tempted on imagining what if the Ducati decides to put 400cc engine to Multistrada?
Do you think the Chinese bikes will be a promising competition to the European market?
How about the Chinese manufacturers getting into Indian market especially in the adventures segment? whereas the upcoming launches and expected bikes in India like BMW G310 GS, Benelli TRK 500 and KTM 390 Adventure are already up to fill the adventures segment in the Indian market.
