Motorcycles are wonderful vehicles meant not just for pleasure riding but also for utility and service. And right now, we aren’t talking about some usual job, we are talking about situations of crisis and war.

Since the time motorcycles became mainstream, they have proven their worth as extremely effective vehicles in the times of war by transporting messages and men in shortest possible times on the road from one place to another.

Given the advancement in automotive technology, there are companies that are making some truly innovative motorcycles, especially for defense services. Christini Motorcycles is one such company which makes All Wheel Drive (AWD) off-road motorcycles having 450cc single cylinder engines. Derived from Honda’s CFR 250, the Christini AWD 450 is far more rugged to be used in demanding situations.

The suspension and the chassis are strengthened beyond the conventional build quality and the seat is also modified for more comfort enabling soldiers to ride longer without getting tired much.

However, that’s not what these motorcycles are renowned for, the Christini AWD 450 powers both wheels. This results in better traction over any surface and requires less effort from the rider to go through various terrains. This, in turn, results in much less fatigue. Christini’s founder, Steve Christini, commented, “We’ve … done testing that that shows our AWD bike is 30 percent less fatiguing than a standard bike. You just don’t get stuck in anything!”

From July 2016 onwards, US Air Force 1st Special Operations Wing passed a plan to use more than 50 AWD 450 motorcycles from Christini. This move shouldn’t be a surprise given that Navy Seals, Army Special Forces Troops and Super Secretive Joint Special Operations Command, all already use the said motorcycles.
