Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer reported sales of 4,99,655 units in December 2015. A decline of 5.02% compared to 5,26,097 units of December 2014. Interestingly the newly launched Hero Duet becomes one of the 10 best selling scooters in market. The model ranked fourth in the top selling scooters in India for November 2015.
Bajaj Auto reported sales of 2,89,003 units in December 2015 against 2,83,244 units sold in December 2014, a marginal growth of 0.63%. The exports of Bajaj Auto Limited declined sharply by 12 % in December 2015 to 1,45,477 units as against 1,66,134 units exported in December 2014.
TVS Motors registered 5.15% growth in December sales figures. The domestic sales stood at 1,68,160 units in December this year over 1,59,918 units of corresponding month last year. 5.5% increase was reported in two-wheeler export at 25,906 units in December 2015 compared to 24,556 units in same month of last year.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India sold 3,06,779 units in December 2015, as against 3,48,737 units sold in December 2014; thereby registering a decline in sales of 13.6%. Scooter sales stood at 1,98,332 units in December 2015 against 2,08,490 units sold in December 2014. Exports during the past month were at 16,067 units against 18,758 units exported in Dec 2014.
Mahindra Two Wheelers sold 12,112 units in December compared to 13,445 units sold in December 2014. Domestic sales dipped from 12,835 units in December 2014 to 10,488 units in December 2015 while export increased from 610 units in December 2014 to 1,624 units in December 2015.
Royal Enfield reported 41% growth in December 2015. Domestic sales stood at 40,453 units in December 2015 compared to 28,634 units in December 2014. The Exports of the company showed 9% increase in sales at 416 units in December 2015 against 455 units in Corresponding month of 2014.
