Two defence personnel have created new world record for riding a motorcycle standing on the seat of the bike for 75.2 kilometres and another for riding 46.9 kilometres for handle bar riding.
Captain Manpreet Singh (Team Captain “Dare Devils”) standing on the seat of a bike, rode it for 2 hours 24 minutes and 12 seconds covering 75.2 kilometres thereby breaking the previous world record of 32.3 kilometres held by Ratnesh Pandey from Indore.
He said,
“Initially, I was concentrating to complete 32 kilometres. Once the target was achieved, I was enjoying my ride and kept on listening to and humming the songs I have been listening all the way.”
Another extraordinary feat of Handle Bar Riding on Motorcycle was registered under a fresh category by Havildar Sandeep Kumar. He covered a distance of 46.9 Km in 01 hr 27 min and 31 secs.
Sandeep Kumar said,
“I kept on thinking that I have been preparing for this record for the past one year. It is difficult to ride a motorbike and balance it while sitting on its handle. Otherwise, I had covered 70 kilometres during my practice sessions. After completing 47 kilometres on a turn, I got imbalanced and touched the handle. But the aim I had decided, I worked dedicatedly on it.”
As per news reports their final certification is awaited and it will be published in the next edition of Guinness Books of Record, LIMCA Book of Records, ASIA Book of Records and INDIA Book of Records.
