Interesting news for the fans of the Scrambler motorcycles, especially the one from Ducati. If you ever thought that Ducati Scrambler needed more juice, well, you’re in for a treat. It seems that Ducati is field testing a new Scrambler with a more powerful 1200cc engine. You read that right!
While the spy shot is quite blurry and the motorcycle’s body is covered with tapes, few things are quite clear. First, the overall design is likely to remain same, however, there’s a raised front fender unlike the conventional one on the current Scrambler. Second, the motorcycle seems to share the same instrument console, the front suspension, wheels and the single disc brake. Although, it is not clear from the picture if it’s a dual disc setup. Also, the frame appears to be the same as well.
The most interesting bit is, of course, the engine as it is anybody’s guess for now. There are speculations around on the internet that it will use the Monster’s 1200 unit. But we think that we can see the air-cooling fins on what look like the cylinder heads, and in Ducati’s current lineup, every motorcycle has liquid cooled engines except the Scrambler.
So, could Ducati have developed a new 1200cc air-cooled engine for their upcoming Scrambler? It is not unlikely is what we can tell you.
