Hella India Lighting is planning to enter into Automotive aftermarket batteries. The company will launch its new battery business nationwide by June this year. They have already started the pre-sales and pilot market activities at three locations.
Ramashankar Pandey, managing director, Hella India lighting said:
“We will be launching a wide variety for most make and model being sold in India in both 4- wheeler and 2-wheeler segment. We will enter the commercial vehicle space as well in the second phase.”
Not only the batteries, company will also provide battery testers, battery charges, dashboard battery votage indicators, online application chart and an online warrenty registration system.
During the initial phase, Hella batteries will be available at their existing retails outlets. Hella India Lighting has nearly 12,000 retailers across in India, but will start the supply of the battery from around 5,000 retailers and expand the base gradually. Hella lighting is already present with its batteries in other countries like China, Spain, Singapore and Germany.
Ramashankar Pandey also said that batteries will be manufactured by third party in India and company hopes to sell nearly 10,000 units a month.
