Indian Motorcycles to launch Springfield in 2016. The bike uses same air-cooled 1811cc, 91bhp V-twin engine as the Chief Classic, Chieftain and Roadmaster.
Indian motorcycles applied for a trademark on the name Índian Springfield’ around a year back, and its previous ownership used to make a model called Chief Springfield. The name Springfield is derived from the fact that Indian was originally based in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The bike is also listed as part of the firm’s 2016 range in the EPA document suggests that it must be due for launch fairly soon.
