Kawasaki is planning to develop the next generation motorcycles with artificial intelligence. The bikes are being developed such that they have a ‘personality’ which will evolve as it learns more about the rider and his riding style.
With the help of Information and Communications Technology, Kawasaki’s new system called the ‘Emotion Engine’ will have the ability to read emotions and instructions from the rider’s voice using an ‘Emotion Generation and Natural Language Dialogue System’. Which further implies that the artificial intelligence system will understand the emotional state of rider and try to make the ride comfortable. If required, it will also advice the rider to make changes in the motorcycle settings based on the riding style and road/weather conditions.
The new artificial intelligence system is being developed by Cocoro SB Corp and is at a very nascent stage. Kawasaki’s bikes that will use this technology in the future will be branded as “Rideology,” the name given to the firm’s rider-centric development philosophy.
