Riding with Indian Motorcycle has always been an amazing experience. During the IMRG Coorg ride, while we were still in awe of the amazing experience we had at Coorg, we were served with the news that served as the icing on the cake. The news was the dates for the next IMRG ride, and what a place they chose. It is Goa, one of the most happening places in India and can safely be called the paradise for bikers, art and fun enthusiasts.
Unlike last time, due to prior commitments, I could not ride all the way down to Goa from Delhi, but I couldn’t not be there either, hence I decided to fly down to Goa and be a part of these amazing people, the IMRG riders.
I landed in Goa on the 23rd night and headed to the hotel, initially I was wondering why the hotel is so far from the airport as it took me around 1 hour to reach there at night with almost no traffic. All my cribbing and nagging went kaput as I reached the venue, what a beautiful property it was. Rio resort! Perfectly and tastefully chosen venue to unwind your mind.
Indian motorcycle treated all the biking enthusiasts with a wonderful gift as they unveiled and gave the all-new Scout Bobber to the world of bikers in India. I was still dazed by the brilliance of the Bobber when it got topped, as I saw a very humble Biker and actor celebrity casually walking inside the hotel premises. Yes! it was no one else but a famous Bollywood actor R. Madhavan.
It was no coincidence that he was there, as he was there to be with us and ride with us. Madhavan has recently bought an Indian Motorcycle and calls himself a proud owner of an Indian Motorcycle. The entire day we spent together, as we first rode together to Elshadai School with many other Indian Motorcycle riders who came from all over India, accompanied by Mr Pankaj Dubey, MD and CEO, Indian Motorcycle India.
As every time, when IMRG riders come together and ride, we ride for a noble cause and that is “Girl Child Education”. This initiative works under the banner of “Wheels of Change”. Riding along with riders with the wheels of change, as we reached Elshadai School, we met a lot of girl students and interacted with them. Indian Motorcycle gave school bags to the children and then spent some quality time with students.
This all got completed by the strike of the second half of the day, and our next event was planned in the evening, so while all other went back to the hotel and rested. I decided to take out this time and spend some quality time exchanging thoughts and ideas with Mr Pankaj Dubey and R. Madhavan, discussing bikes, biking and lot more.
In the evening we all gathered at the Rio Resort’s parking as there was a bus arranged to take us all to the next even more awesome venue for the IMRG event celebrations night. This was arranged at Deltin Royale, an amazing place in the midst of water. A luxury venue for the gala event. We had some amazing performances from IMRG riders at the event, followed by felicitations to the bikers on clocking 10k+ km with their Indian Motorcycles, Dealerships for their performance, riders contributing in Wheels of change and of course our K2K riders, who completed 6000 km ride from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with the motto of promoting Girl Child Education. Of which yours truly was a part as well and got felicitated with the medals of honour from Indian Motorcycle along with the other riders who participated in the K2K ride.
Well, like all other good things this also had to come to an end, as the day got over and we all had to get back on our way home and usual routines. However, this was not the end, as I believe it was just the beginning of the preparations for the next big IMRG ride. Signing off till then and looking for much more such amazing IMRG rides to come in future and be part of it.
