The chilly winter morning of the 16th of December was the D-Day for the #roadTripUnited
The #roadTripUnited project was flagged off from Delhi, where xBhp’s Core Team are set to ride 9000 km around India with the mission of meeting and uniting motorcyclists of the country.
xBhpians and bikers from a number of motorcycling clubs in Delhi met up at the xBhp Dhaba at 7 in the morning, where breakfast coupons were distributed and riders were briefed about formation riding. Every club president was given the responsibility of getting their riders in formation and safely to the venue.
Finally it was time to ride as the 100 gathered motorcyclists rode towards Motoziel in Gurgaon. The line up was led by the Godzilla of Super Cars the Nissan GT-R, followed by the Indian Chief Vintage, two Suzuki Hayabusas, an Indian Scout and flanked by two Nissan Terranos.
Our host for the morning was the wonderful motorcycling cafe, Motoziel. We are extremely grateful to them for having hosted all the wonderful bikers of Delhi at their lovely cafe.
At the venue we were joined by a few more bikers who were unable to meet and ride with us from the xBhp Dhaba, including our Chief Guest for the Flag Off, Deepa Malik.
After a cup of hot chai in the cold morning to revive everyone’s spirits, the assembled bikers trundled up for the flag off ceremony. Sunny started off proceedings by explaining the thought process behind the #roadTripUnited project and why we do, what we do! We then invited Deepa Malik on to the stage to address the gathering as the Chief Guest at the event.
We also showed the video trailer of the recently concluded #powerTrip360 ride in Australia and the journey of xBhp in the last 16 years. To celebrate 16 years, Motoziel gave 16% off on all riding gear and accessories to any biker present in their store.
Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director Steelbird and our host at Motoziel, welcomed all those assembled to Motoziel and shared with us his vision of starting off Motoziel.
Dr. Arun Thareja, founder of G.O.D.S, Sarah Kashyap, Cross Country Rally Racer, Dr. Neharika Yadav, Superbike Racer, Joshua John, founder of Delhi Bikers Fest and Mohit Ahuja, founder Bikers for Good also shared their thoughts on motorcycling and their experiences of the same with all the assembled bikers. A ‘Note of Thanks’ was presented to all of these wonderful motorcyclists by Deepa Malik for their immense contribution towards motorcycling over the years.
The #roadTripUnited trophy was presented to Motoziel. All the presidents of the biking clubs present were invited on stage to hold the placards of ‘i the Biker | we the Power’ as a show of unity in our motorcycling world.
After the wonderful Flag Off event, Motoziel provided a sumptuous breakfast to the bikers present. So much so, that people were happy to hang out in the cool location and were in no hurry to head back home!
It was truly a memorable day for all the bikers present and we all look forward to riding around the country meeting fellow bikers and uniting motorcyclists across brands, clubs and cubic capacity!
