Four Students from Maharashtra have been allegedly abducted by the Maoists in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The students were on a cycle tour of Maoist insurgency-hit area, went missing from 29th December 2015.
According to some sources, the boys had entered Bastar through Bhatpar village in Gadchiroli–Bijapur district border and their last location was in Basaguda town of Bijapur district.
A person based in Nagpur was informed about the alleged abductions through a phone call from Sukma district of Bastar on Saturday.
S R P Kalluri, Inspector-General of Police, said that he had heard of the news and had activated his informers to gather more information about the alleged abductions.
He also said – All possible efforts would be made to save the boys if they have been abducted in Bastar.
Two of the four boys have been identified as Adarsh and Vikas.
