Since it's a "vs" thread... would have liked to see comparisons between:

          - Vibes at 5OOORPM / 65OORPM / 8OOORPM / 1OOOORPM
          - Lighting / Lighting spread
          - Stock Tyres
          - O-6O timings / O-1OO timings (optional, since this is available online)
          - Engine temp comparisons in similar riding conditions
          - Wind-blast at various speeds

there are also a few other things i'd like to know...
guess a test ride will answer 'em.

Short, but to-the-point review. Yes, more details like some of them requested here would be a delight, but I'm sure they'll start trickling in with time.

Dilemma while shopping in this category can be an issue, but once the consumer has his requirements sorted out well enough, I feel that choosing one over the other shouldn't be a big deal. Besides, as the xBhp reviewers have mentioned already, both these bikes can be tweaked here and there, to perform all-round duties. That's the best part about both these machines.

Either way, and whatever you end up buying, you'll be a winner all the way

Respect the power and abilities of these wonders, ride safe, and enjoy the biking.

Insightful review and as usual stunning pictures. I thought the white GT650R wasn't much of a looker until I saw these pics.

BTW, did you try HDRs in any of these pics? Especially 4th and 5th photographs in the series of images look very much like HDRs.
              Thanks,

OMG ......i don't think it is a good sign.....why should a bike heat up so much that everything from tank to chasis starts to heat up....

AFAIK its a pretty common thing for bigger fared bikes.
Simply because the heat doesnt escape as easily as in Naked bikes.

i don't have much experience of riding bikes bigger than 250 cc...but still, it is not something that any rider would want....and it is not something that manufacturers want...and if it unwanted by both rider and manufacturer...somebody must have done something....

you mean to say almost all big faired bikes from all manufacturers face this problem??

little difficult to digest....anybody else can confirm...

Very much true.Do you get this problem on 250cc fully fared bikes too?

big bike + slow moving (low gear+low RPMs) = roasted nuts

ALL of em. and it's not a problem actually. it's part of having a "big" bike.

                              simply put...

                              low RPMs = tandoori thighs

the bike needs to heat up to a certain temp (103/4 to 108 degrees C)
for fan the to kick in.

and slow RPMs aren't usually enough to take the temp high enough for the fan to start up.
(atleast not before you feel the need to pull over, pull down ur pants & fan urself )

Originally posted by princesirohi View Post

once you're going fast enough for the bike to heat up enough...
the temp sensor does it's sensing... and the radiator fan kicks in...
which consequentially... makes the engine temp go down.

so it's... go fast(er)... to heat up... to cool down.
to keep your thighs at room temp.

things are usually manageable once the radiator fan is on for a while.

Good review. After going through the review I would prefer gtr650 to ninja650 if it really has the suzuki engine and also for the sporty look. Ehaust note is better than ninja which is a very important factor to get the ride feel.

@melroyal Are there any vibrations post 7k rpm.
