@xionite: man, your comments made the mood
I never knew white can look so good on GT. Awesome one. I am again confused about the color. Red-black to red and now red to white...aah
It seems this thread is on fire. Posts are growing too fast.

Experts from ACI about the GT 650R from their July '11 issue
Originally posted by ACI July '11 Page 187There's hardly a comparison between these two motorcycles. Hyosung's GT 650R provides the flair of a fully faired sportsbike. The Hyosung engine carries more than a fair share of rough edges and ride amd handling aren't as good as expected either. To top it all, Garware Motors and Hysong have priced their sportsbike quite a bit higher than the Kawasaki Ninja 650R, a quicker motorcycle that shines out as superior in every which way possible

i don;t think any of Hyosung bikes are that bad .. its more of media hype ... there may be some -ve aspects ... but its still 2nd or 3rd popular bikes brand internationally when compare to 250 and 650 .. and if soo many of these are playing on road ..then they must be good.
i have seen many bike magazines giving very bias reviews [not only on hyosung ] and i found that old comets in india still in pretty decent condition compared to other brands here ...
anyway its on the buyers who like to invest in which kind of bike .. as far me .. i am not intrested in either of GT or Ninja 650 ... its too much to handle for me ... i'll be happy with 250

Ok, point to be noted "NO COMPARISON"

Seems like these people havesome personal problems with Hysoung and extra love for Ninja. Totally biased review based on nothing.

This is exactly how you sell big bikes by just offering test rides.Originally posted by donparry View Postsheelpriye, did u ride GT650 R before!!!.. i did.. its one of the awesome bike i drove.. there are 1000 difference btw GT650R and Ninja.. style (which is the basic requirement for sport bike) fully faired, big, riding posture nd sexy... ninja is like ur sittin in CBZ

There are so many plying on the roads ONLY because they are supposed to be 'cheaper' to buy than competition (everywhere else). The bias disappears when an inferior product is priced lower. eg. CD100 and Splendor are basically the same bike. But CD100 and Hero Honda will be ridiculed if it is priced more than Splendor.Originally posted by nagoo View Posti don;t think any of Hyosung bikes are that bad .. its more of media hype ... there may be some -ve aspects ... but its still 2nd or 3rd popular bikes brand internationally when compare to 250 and 650 .. and if soo many of these are playing on road ..then they must be good.

There is no 'personal problem' as such. The bike is direct competition to N650R, which people fail to realise. Common public thinks GT650R is competing with the 600cc-4cyl (Jap 4) / 675cc-3cyl (Triumph Daytona) / 850cc-2cyl (Ducati 848) supersport bikes which it is obviously not because it is obviously severely underpowered in comparison.Originally posted by vikyk View PostOk, point to be noted "NO COMPARISON"

Nobody has a personal problem with Garware in General. The problem here is that the Platina(Red) is selling for more money than the Passion PRO(Green) when it should be the other way around.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I believe nobody is taking GT650R to comparison of super sport bikes. But when the review writer is saying "no comparison" and than instantly start comparison by saying "ninja is way ahead" than it looks biased.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostThere is no 'personal problem' as such. Both can be somewhere compared only because we have two bikes in 650 range, but only "on paper" these look like to be compared otherwise they have far different things in looks, design and performance. And let's leave the point of "common people". As i stated before, common people will take your "white superbike" and "white ZMR" as same on road...
If GT650R would be so bad bike than it would not be selling from years. Period.Last edited by vikyk; 06-30-2011, 06:44 PM."Pain is temporary , pride is forever"

Platina 100 still sells. We all know which is the better bike amongst Passion and Platina. And here, I rest my case.Originally posted by vikyk View PostI believe nobody is taking GT650R to comparison of super sport bikes. Wrong again.. Refer this: Bajaj Platina 100 | Platina 100 Price | 100cc Platina Bike - Bajajauto.comOriginally posted by nagoo View Postthis is not soo good comparison .. GT has lot of features for affordable price .. while its comparators has more on build quality side ..

AND As you can see, Avenger 200 and Pulsar 200 are not on the BAL website ( because They have been discontinued.. not the Platina.) But I guess I am going OT. But still, I was only trying to make a point.
[ SARCASTIC COMMENT]And Platina HAS to be the best EVER 100cc... no wonder Splendor , Passion and BAL's own Discover 100 do more numbers than the Platina 100. [/SARCASTIC COMMENT]Advice is a form of nostalgia.

Went to the Hyusong Showroom here in Ahmedabad today with my brother, we were really impressed by both the machines, though we both liked the ST7 more than the GT, personal taste I think, we even fired up the ST7 and it felt really good, though on low RPMs we could hear a little bit of knocking sound.
The ST7 is a wonderful bike but I think the turning radius is ridiculously large and will not be a good city bike, will be almost impossible to get a U turn with the bike on any city road.
We are really worried about the service that GM (Garware Motors) can provide and we also doubt if GM are looking at this for the long term, if so it will definitely change the way we Indians look at bikes in general.
