Greats pics but the review looks like an advertisement than honest unbiased review . It is not just because of praise , but also due the the manner in which the review is posted .
The comparison with CBR as a tourer is also biased. It focuses only on one spec
I tend to agree, no doubt the bike is mechanically superior but giving a blanket recommendation on a single TD seems like an overwhelmed kid on getting a icecream sundae. I am not sure if it will outclass the CBR250R, except maybe in city and though the bike looks stunning its design advertises it more like a dirt bike than city bike.

    • Any reason why much of the stats of the Duke 200 have not been compared to the N250 since its compared quite intensively to the CBR250r?

Too much of a mayhem on this thread already over the performance part.
I totally agree. Most of the newer lads here thinks this is more of an advertisement rather than 1st impression!! If a new product is better than most of the present rivals, why can't we just welcome it?

It is also compared to R15 - reason is price.

It's purely because the Duke is being positioned price wise between the Yamaha R15 and the Honda CBR250R. I don't see the point of a comparison of a bike like the KTM 200 DUKE with 25bhp vs. another with 33bhp (N250) and with price points that are almost double the other!!! Whereas the CBR250R has more or less the same price bracket and well seemingly similar specs, and lets face it, will be the closest competition (in sales & performance) to the KTM 200 DUKE, the R15 however, on the other hand, shouldn't have been brought into the comparo, coz i feel thats just plain bullying!!! It's great for a 150cc bike but i guess it's popularity has made them the target of every manufacturer. I personally like the R15 but the engine needs to be a lot bigger maybe even 200cc and they need even bigger tyres!!! that would really make it better than it already is!!!

I hope I've given you a satisfactory answer.

The same stupid Bajaj mechs are doing excellent jobs with Ninja 250 and even Duke 200 will get serviced only in probiking showrooms just like Ninja 250.

Honestly, this thread deserves to be locked now.

                    @ SWAS
The first one is a dummy; provision for any future requirement
The second light is activated and indicates an if an alarm system is plugged in on the Duke
The third lights acts as a warning light; if an operating safety message was detected. Like low fuel, low oil pressure, High coolant temp, side stand down and low battery
This apart from the actual warning display on the speedo

                    Hope this helps ...

Either you are just assuming or must be passing some mechanic as a stupid bajaj mechanic.

I don't think Bajaj service has ever been bad. One of the prime factors for KTM's success will be excellent service!

                      • Looks like Bajaj is also obsessed by the letter 'K'. First Kawasaki and now KTM...

People in Pune, just head to the Probiking showroom next to Ruby Hall Clinic. It is no more a Probiking showroom and looks more like a KTM store The hoardings on the showroom were being changed this morning to depict KTM. I believe the showroom will only sell KTM and Kawasaki bikes now. The P220 and A220 will now be sold by the regular Bajaj showrooms.

Bangalore people - head to PBK Indiranagar - it is being decked orange!! I caught a fleeting glimpse of the showroom (in mad traffic) and I could see the front view of the DUKE stickered across the huge glass panes.

IIRC , Rajiv Bajaj said in his UTV Bloomberg interview that PBK will be primarily used to sell KTM. (or I could have read/heard this somewhere else too )

I will check it out tomorrow. I called them today enquiring about booking, as i read some where that booking might start from the 20th. They said booking starts only after the launch in Jan. Excited to replace my 9 year old Pulsar 150 classic.
